Re: Aaron Morley
Not meant to be a broad brush statement, just an observation on his trajectory. I don't expect him to play for Wycombe again.
And absolutely player development isn't linear, but he's not a kid - he's 24.
Re: Impact players
Darius Charles for me. He made such an impact in terms of the vibe and story of a squad that was all about vibe and story.
Only made 35 league appearances for us, feels impossibly low.
Re: Aaron Morley
I think you have to be careful with broad brush statements like that, I’m sure if you went through the Bolton message board in August you’d find some berk arguing that if Morley was good enough for Bolton he wouldn’t be out on loan at Wycombe.
Player development isn’t linear and any division - even the sixth tier and below - will have players that are good enough to play much higher, players that have reached their level and players that aren’t good enough.
Jasper Pattenden, Richard Kone and Declan Skura are all good examples of players that had the potential to play higher.
Re: Aaron Morley
He might be accomplished, but if he was anywhere near our level he wouldn't be out on loan in the sixth tier. He's out of contract in the summer, isn't he?
Re: Match Day Thread: Blackpool
Really want to see more from Fred today. A couple of below par performances from him over Christmas have been frustrating. Against Shrewsbury he was unplayable, absolutely unstoppable from front to back and his header was a measure of a player giving everything to win. Contrast that to New Years Day and he was lucky to last 87 minutes. He’s a star. We need him to shine.
Re: Rumour Mill
Re: Caleb Taylor recalled
Martin is a good manager who was just too stubborn. If he learns from that mistake, he'll find success elsewhere.
Re: Aaron Morley
Taylor and Morley are massive misses, but as @Wendoverman wrote about in another thread, we still have Humphreys, and I would have preferred to keep him out of all three, as creativity is such a rare talent, especially at L1 level. There are so many times in the past we had a robust, full blooded side but without that ability to pick a lock.
Re: Aaron Morley
He was unlikely to down tools and Evatt will be delighted to have a player on his form to come in for no outlay, maybe they would have preferred a different outcome if it suited everyone, we probably won't ever find out.
Having said that there is nothing wrong with batshit crazy theories and people guessing, it's when people swear that possible things absolutely will happen with no insight that the crazy shines through.
No Forino and not much Taff though this season, hope we'll stay up...
