Really want to see more from Fred today. A couple of below par performances from him over Christmas have been frustrating. Against Shrewsbury he was unplayable, absolutely unstoppable from front to back and his header was a measure of a player giving everything to win. Contrast that to New Years Day and he was lucky to last 87 minutes. He’s a star. We need him to shine.
Particularly frustrating because that was one of his standout Wycombe performances for me. Mostly because he showed what he has often lacked - grit and unwavering determination.
Today’s lineup could be very interesting, especially with Huddersfield on Tuesday. I’m expecting an old school Ainsworth backs to the wall sort of performance, showing once again that we can win in different ways.
Tricky. We’ve won two and drawn seven of our last nine meetings and they’ve won three of their last five on the road. We’ve scored more than them but they’ve had more shots this season.
On that basis I’ll predict a battling draw followed by a call for more reinforcements in the January window.
That would be pretty dangerous in my humble opinion. We need the points today and we saw how rotating hurt us at Charlton. I would prefer us go for this one and Tuesday and then go for wholesale rotation in the FA cup. Just my opinion.
Blackpool have been very stingy of late - have only conceded more than one non-pen goal once in their last nine and generally don't give up much by way of chances - might not be the most thrilling of encounters
I suspect we will see a stronger team against Blackpool to try and get three points against a supposed weaker team.
Huddersfield and Portsmouth we rotate and then Mansfield back to full strength.
Mansfield have to play two games between our FA Cup game on Friday night and our league game 8 days later which would hopefully give us an advantage as we have 7 full days without a game.
That would be my take anyway, hopefully we have some more incoming before the Huddersfield game.
Wouldn't be surprised to see all 3 front players rotated today with Udoh, McCleary and Kodua starting. Don't mind that. Fred and Kone are great options to have for the last 30mins in what's likely to be a tight game.
Scowen back in the starting XI will be a big plus for us today.
I don't even necessarily agree with that. We've got a whole week off (plus one day) after Portsmouth. You'd have to assess their fitness beforehand of course but I'd be looking to field the strongest possible side that night as well

Nothing much here.
Famous old club, part of the fabric of this nations favourite game. Shame we have to smash them.
Founded the same year as us

Starting line up for today - maybe.
Rav
Grimmer, Low, Hartridge, Harvie
Scowen, Humphreys, Leahy
Fred, Kone, Udoh.
We will rotate more imo

We've been rotating the front three most of the season
Today and Tuesday we pick our strongest possible defence and midfield for both games surely?
Absolutely no way on earth we don't pick our strongest team v Huddersfield. Why on earth would we possibly do that?
I’m not sure what our strongest team is now. I hope Matt Bloomfield does.
Agreed 👍👍
I'd argue we don't have *a* strongest team - there are a few spots which are always open to rotation. I expect McCleary and Udoh/Kodua will start.

Agreed II. FA cup is the game for rotation. We want points in the League at this stage.
Is Jasper out for long? Grimmer becomes an option centrally again when he is back.

I don’t advocate more rotation - I am reading into Blooms comments on players desperate for more minutes when discussing Morley and Taylor recalls
He becomes an option there, but not sure he's that good there to be honest - certainly not in a 2.
Blooms will make the right calls based on the data. At the end of the day, we have no idea of players' fitness and fatigue levels.
An option at most, yes, but he certainly doesn't fit the bill as a "ball playing centre half".
Expect to see Scowen come in, and due to Taf and Skura not even being on the bench for a while, expect Hartridge to start too.
Maybe some wide forward rotation too.
I'd pick him above Hartridge, surely we need to get someone else in though.
He's completely the wrong kind of CB for the system. We need ball-players - Skura to start today, for me.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see Harvie on the bench with Hartridge at left back. Low left centre back. Skura(fit?) on the right next to Grimmer.
Hartridge would be under Taf and Skura for me.
But not sure if he's crept above them in the pecking order, or is on the bench ahead of them because he can cover 2 positions?
Although some would say Skura can do the same.
Skura can probably match the ball playing, but aerially it feels a big drop from Taylor.
However, we'll find a solution - but it might take a few weeks.
Taylor at least is on the WBA bench today. Would have been infuriating if he was just there for cover.
JJ on the co comms for Swansea v WBA
