Re: Song for Kone
Don’t have a song for the King but for Bez Lubala, we could sing his name to the tune of Kum Ba Yah, which we surely all know from our school days.
So,
Lubala m’Lord, Lubala
Lubala m’Lord, Lubala
Lubala m’Lord Lubala
oh! Lord Lubala.
As a confirmed bible basher you’d have to think he’d love it. Either that or he’d think we were all blaspheming.
Re: Match Day Thread: Burton
Bakinson will start tonight. I just don’t see what most other people seem to see. I have everything crossed he proves me wrong.
I like the back three because (apart from being as scary as hell for our opposition) the wingback option gives us pace to attack both flanks without having to be a ‘fulltime’ defender. I think Dan and King could be a thing moving forward, I’m thinking Cole and Yorke or Shearer and Sutton!

Re: Match Day Thread: Burton
I’d like to see us how we setup in the second half.
Low - Taylor - Bradley
With either Gids/Jasper RB and Reach LB as wingbacks.
NORRIS
LOW TAYLOR BRADLEY
PATTENDEN REACH
SCOWEN
HUMPREYS LOWRY/WESTERGAARD
KONE UDOH

Re: Blank screen shown on some Gasroom pages
I've put off from posting about the possible demise of the Gasroom until now, reasoning that coming here is a little bit like the someone has given us access to their back garden for a chat and now they've finally got tired of hearing some of the utter rubbish that's said.
The final straw being a few of us having an unseemly squabble in one corner and when some of it spilled over into personal abuse of him, he decided that enough is enough and "I'm not putting up with this anymore". I thought it's the good doctor's garden, if I've pissed him off and he doesn't want me here anymore then maybe I should look at myself and ask "Why is that?".
So if the Gasroom is to end - and I hope there is a way in which it can continue - then we should all be grateful for the time we've spent in the garden. Thanks @drcongo.
Meanwhile if we need to pay a fee to access the new garden to help keep the weeds down, I'm happy to do so. I just hope that doesn't deter some of the occasional contributions we've had from supporters of other clubs. I feel it's been a richer place for their participation. Likewise the addition of a concession rate for those not able to pay the full fee, but who make equally delightful contributions, should be a must.
I just hope the garden gates don't get locked before we have the chance for one final promotion party come May.

Re: Match Day Thread: Burton
Apologies to @glasshalffull who does not like the statement “ must win game “ but I think it is. We need to start a run of winning games to get real momentum into these last few games. It wouldn’t surprise me that we start with a back three.

Re: Match Day Thread: Birmingham
ah ok. I doubt that they take the player's reaction into account when looking at the tackle but I could be wrong. As with a lot of things with football I don't think this particular incident is black and white. I think you can make a case for it to be red, and you can make a case for it to be yellow. For this reason I can't see it being overruled. It certainly wasn't a howler.
It's a shame the Birmingham player can't be retrospectively booked for his play acting though. It was utterly pathetic. I might be old school but I will never understand players pretending to be injured when they are not. When I used to play you'd go out of your way to show that you weren't hurt, even if you were. That said, if we start down that road then there would be a lot of goalkeepers booked for that thing they do when they sit on the ground and tell the ref they need to see a physio whilst the rest of the team trot over to the sideline for instructions from the coach (and yes, sadly our keepers are guilty of this as well, along with pretty much every other keeper in the league)
It's just about the thing I hate most about football at the moment. I'm at the point where I think if a keeper goes down "injured" and "needs" "treatment" they should be made to leave the field for a bit the same as outfield players
(just read all this back and I don't half sound old)
Re: Wycombe v large crowds
Thinking about packed houses..
We beat Slough (with hundreds watching from the hill.
Wolverhampton Wanderers in the greatest Cup run ever.
This is our house.

Re: Match Day Thread: Burton
Interesting to see most here are sticking with Fred. For me, it’s a rest for him and try something new.
