Must win game tonight. I expect we’ll see a few changes but I really hope Kone is fit enough to start this one. Could we see the return of 3 at the back with wing backs?
Apologies to @glasshalffull who does not like the statement “ must win game “ but I think it is. We need to start a run of winning games to get real momentum into these last few games. It wouldn’t surprise me that we start with a back three.
Nah. No messing around for me. 3 at the back with 10 men against top of the table away from home is not a good acid test for Burton at home. Completely different styles.
Rav
Back Low Taylor Reach
Scowen Bakinson
Fred Humphreys Berry/Udoh
Kone
Rav back in for Norris. Pattenden rotated to manage his minutes after his recent injury. Back did really well when he played. Bakinson has been hard done by and was in good form when he got dropped. It would be fantastic news if Sadlier and Grimmer made the beach. If Berry is fit to start I’d like to see him for 60 mins. Udoh off the left if not. Kone has to start if fit.
Edit - I’ll be surprised if Udoh is fit to start after the amount of ground he covered at the weekend and the volume of high intensity sprints he undertook. Probably much more likely we see Lubala there.
I always look forward to playing Burton. The sight of that fat yellow b*****d on the badge always makes me smile 😄.
It's definitely a very much want to win game, as we need to start building some momentum for these final thirteen games.
Can't hardly believe we're actually second - but we got here on merit and have earned the right to challenge for automatic promotion. Let's return to playing with a bit more confidence and swagger.
Burton are bottom 4 but have only lost one in 10, so won't be an easy one. Not that we seem a complacency outfit, we're just struggling to break some teams down right now.
Would definitely stick with Fred, he was hauled off at half time at the weekend so is fresher than McCleary will be. He plays right, probably Lubala left. And obviously time for Kone to come back in.
Could be a huge night. Wrexham at Huddersfield.
But with 1 win in 5 we need to get back on the winning run asap.
Not convinced a back 3 is what we need, however hard done by Bradley can feel to miss out.
Like @frequentstander said earlier, there's a huge difference using it to shut up shop in an emergency situation against the best team in the league, but will we create enough using it?
Assuming we stay with our usual formation, the big call is who plays the Simons role.
Does Scowen do it, or do we instead play 2 there with Leahy?
But is Reach able to play in effect 2x90s in 4 days after 6months of nothing? Seems a stretch, so maybe Leahy will be left back, and Bakinson comes in?
If we still don't see Westergaard on the bench with Leahy & Bakinson starting, and Simons suspended, the mystery will grow!
Bakinson will start tonight. I just don’t see what most other people seem to see. I have everything crossed he proves me wrong.
I like the back three because (apart from being as scary as hell for our opposition) the wingback option gives us pace to attack both flanks without having to be a ‘fulltime’ defender. I think Dan and King could be a thing moving forward, I’m thinking Cole and Yorke or Shearer and Sutton!
I hope Reach starts as he looked decent on Saturday, perhaps only getting 60/70 minutes depending on the game.
Bakinson in for Simons I guess. Does anyone know if we did appeal his red card?
I think it was harsh to drop Rav in the first place but after Saturday I think he should get his place back, he helps with our play out from the back even if his ability to deal with crosses is suspect.
I think you’ve nailed the team tonight. I don’t agree with it personally, but ultimately, I don’t know sh*t and just an opinionated fan and will trust in Dodds and team to do what’s best for our football club.
One of the two Tuesday games I cannot make for work reasons...fingers crossed it's a crowd small enough not to make the team anxious and we get a much needed win! Good luck everyone!
Had a look at the Burton forum. Expections are very low for tonight.
Now that we are a grown-up team other forums have become a bit boring. Long gone are the 'cheating bastards with their fairground owning manager' comments and now it's mostly just score predictions.

Lubala breaks Burton hearts and Kone gets a hattrick in a 5-0 demolition. Peace and love breaks out on the Gasroom.
It had better be.
Thanks, @BSE, as ever.
I'm hearing it is also available in Ultra HD, full surround-sound and all-round sensual overload, live in a crisply cold valley in the Chilterns.

Would love to see this team (3-3-2-2)

I think it may be:-
Norris
Grimmer, Low, Taylor, Leahy
Bakinson, Scowen
Humphreys
Fred, Kone, Udoh.
I'd be disappointed if Grimmer and Sadlier were on the beach already.
Interesting to see most here are sticking with Fred. For me, it’s a rest for him and try something new.

Humphreys has looked a little tired to me the last few weeks. I wonder if we might see Lowry rotated in.

I’d like to see us how we setup in the second half.
Low - Taylor - Bradley
With either Gids/Jasper RB and Reach LB as wingbacks.

LOW TAYLOR BRADLEY
PATTENDEN REACH

Seems good to me . No Leahy also equals more chance of the ball staying on the ground.
This gave me a genuine stab of homesickness.

Really think we need to win this tonight. Especially with the strong prospect of dropped points elsewhere
