Re: Bloomfield Out?
Obviously I was planning to post the results over to Mr Couhig and claim that democracy will out.
This is a forum for discussions, and a poll is a way of spurring discussions, I'm not sure why you're so upset by the use of a pretty standard feature of any online forum. If the purpose of The Gasroom was to change situations at the club, then we'd have had Keith Scott as manager a few years back, Dave Tarpey up front and free crisps for everyone.
Re: Bloomfield Out?
How else are we, as fans, permitted to release our frustration at such a poor run of results?
Your repeated insistence that we can't talk about it, as it doesn't help is very irritating and doesn't help either.
Re: Match Day Thread: Wigan
Okay these last 11 months have been absolute hell. When will this nightmare end? It doesn't even feel real anymore. I really want/ed Blooms to succeed but I fear this is only going to get worse. If we somehow manage to win against Fleetwood it will only paper over the cracks. The last time I missed a league game home or away was the first game of last season (Bolton away). I just go now out of blind loyalty and if it wasn't for the social aspect of 'going to the game' I would have given up months ago as many already have done. I don't go expecting to win every game, I don't even expect playoffs. I just want to watch us fight and dare I say it, entertain. Neither of those are evident at the moment and we look a team just going through the motions. From the day Ainsworth left I had a terrible gut feeling that this is what would happen and in this case I hate to be proven right. I am not saying we should go back to Ainsworth but the reality is we now know how good he truly was. I have always said we are a League 2 club in terms of size/budget/fanbase and I have always enjoyed punching above our weight and playing against the 'big boys' but now I think is the time we have to face reality. I hope I am wrong and this is only my opinion. I have never posted in a match day thread before but I just needed somewhere to express the sadness I am feeling right now.
Re: Match Day Thread: Wigan
Superb to hear this @ryan_w_kirkby2 !
Matt Cecil is truly one of life's good guys. I'm absolutely certain he could've moved on in his career to work for bigger and better clubs, but has stuck around "his" club. He's a credit to WWFC.
Re: Match Day Thread: Wigan
A little postive from last night...
My daughter was mascot, a tweet was put out by the club last week asking if any 5-12yo going to the Wigan game would like to be mascot to get in touch. I never seen it till the next day but luckily for us no one had asked and Sadie got the chance to be it.
A big thanks to Matt Cecil, I reached out on here to see if anyone going the Port Vale game could pick us a kit up and meet us at the match but had no joy, I messaged Matt on twitter and he got back straight away and sorted it for us. Obviously the game was off but he just said I'll see you on Tuesday.
She had a great time meeting the players, getting photo, autographs and was buzzing leading the team out (the Wigan players and staff were great too).
Including me and Sadie, her mum, nan and grandad and brother and sister went the game. A real family day out and a night we won't forget in a hurry. She was excited going into school today to share her news and talk about Wycombe.
Re: Rumour Mill
That is very unfair. James is a young guy learning the job and he has an enormous workload with no back up to check for errors. He has transformed the BFP coverage of our club and should be encouraged not criticised.
Re: Richard Kone signs
Wow calm down old chap bit of an over reaction.
Someone being interested in a new player's family and relations hardly makes them "creepy". Merely interested in a new player.
Re: Match Day Thread: Bristol Rovers
Should suggest that the club takes action against the 2-5 idiots at the back who took things too far. They added an extra line to the ‘33 Cox on his back’ chant with ‘and he takes it up the ass‘. Really? That’s disgusting at all times but even more so when we’ve just announced the signing of an openly gay player before the match. ‘Rent boys’, ‘bent’ and ‘faggot’ (aimed at Rovers’ goalkeeper) also hurled out by a very very small minority stood at the back. Really pathetic that people like this exist in 2024, let alone feel confident enough to hurl it out in a fairly large crowd. Horrific.
