I noticed that Notts County's owners have something to do with Viborg (the club Westergaard came from). Wonder if that link to England has anything to do with them?
There is not just a burning desire from us fans for our club to reach the automatics, there is a growing number of voices from other teams’ fans that it is our duty to take that second spot
Stockport fans HATE Wrexham too. I've seen many of them online proposing throwing their game against us on the last day if it means Wrexham stay down (provided they are safely in the playoffs at that point)
We can start on Saturday by laying the bogey of the weekend curse. Mike Dodds’ start has mirrored the start of the great Matt Bloomfield’s tenure insofar as he too is struggling to win Saturday games but doing very well in midweek.
Yes, I have noticed a complete and utter disdain for Wrexham from Stockport which was exasperated last weekend. Normally, I’m in the ‘live and let live’ camp but the way some of the Wrexham fans conduct themselves online, and appreciate this is only a small subsection, they seem to believe they have some divine privilege to go to the Championship.
I suspect given the costs of being in the Championship the Hollywood boys will either have to get a Saudi Prince or Kazakh billionaire to share the club to boost funds or sell up.
Wrexham are behaving like a team that are going to get promoted. They have been very average and have won important games. We need to take that kind of attitude into our difficult games. If we defend well we have enough to win games.
Interestingly our last 1-0 win was November 26th at home to Mansfield. A game that typified a promotion performance. More of that please.
To really compete with Wrexham we need refs to start giving us phantom handballs and penalties, and soft cards to our opponents.
Dan Rice may have the same cloying insincerity as Ryan Reynolds, but alas he has not starred as a mouthy, overrated superhero that makes fanboys swoon.
The thing I can't get my head round is that Saturday was only their SECOND penalty all season in the league!
So it's not quite Liverpool at Anfield.
However, I suppose when you get goals allowed when players have literally shoved players out of the way, legit goals ruled out and all sorts of other shenanigans it doesn't really matter!
I just took the low penalty count as "Wrexham are so poor going forward they are rarely in the other team's area." I genuinely think that would explain it!
Yes, with their frontmen they don't scream pace, or lots of skilful touches close to the box.
Probably why we're on about 9 or so in comparison, as we're the exact opposite.
(Although I think we've only actually scored 5 or 6 of them).
Though it should be remembered Wrexham missed theirs on the weekend. Just that the Stockport defenders were so sloth like trying to get back, that the absolute opposite of clinical J Rod somehow produced a left foot, through the keeper's legs finish!
Indeed...unjustified as the penalty award seemed to be...it was a poor one that should have been kept out.
The fact that they did not manage to score any more after that early piece of luck must make the loss harder to take for Stockport.
We were on for a point but for a strangely lacklustre start after the stoppage. Looks like Wrexham take advantage of the 'moments' they get a bit better than a lot of other clubs.
Well, most of them did glue themselves to a poor conference side purely because a guy from a superhero film showed up so they would be quite jammy to find themselves in the championship and one dumb sheikh from the premier league.
I genuinely don't think it is though. If we don't go up, the likelihood is that Wrexham will have finished ahead of us by a very small number of points. If we can clearly point to 10+ points won by Wrexham from outrageous refereeing decisions, then that is the most important factor in the success of our season, above and beyond even Bloomfield/Morley leaving, Kone injuries, our sluggish start after the medical emergency v Wrexham, etc.
The reason the whining seems boring is because there has been a series of absurd decisions over the last few months, so the moaning feels constant. If those decisions hadn't happened, the moaning wouldn't be happening

Yep. It’s got to happen at some point right?

A HUGE four days coming up for us.
There was definitely an air of liking the whole Wrexham story, their owners etc on here earlier in the season.
Wonder if that's still the case.
I suspect given the costs of being in the Championship the Hollywood boys will either have to get a Saudi Prince or Kazakh billionaire to share the club to boost funds or sell up.
They’re ok with me. Similar story - small clubs now with wealthy owners, but theirs have a touch more personality than ours.
I actually like them, their journey and the docco. (Even though we will be in two episodes being beaten...)
Not keen on the team at the moment.
But we could yet be in another two episodes where we p**s on their party on the way to our promotion via the play-offs.
That's the script I am writing...the cruel surprise twist at the end no-one saw coming.

Exactly. The extent of Wrexham's refereeing fortunes this season can be understood very starkly:
If we'd benefited from the same decisions (i.e. at least 5 howlers that have won games) and they hadn't, we'd be 15-20 points ahead of them
The thing I can't get my head round is that Saturday was only their SECOND penalty all season in the league!

Would be interesting to know what the thinking was (if any) to us coming out a good 2-3mins after Wrexham after the medical incident.
Can't knock applauding their fans after that of course, as that was a lovely gesture.
But just wonder why we were out significantly later.
That said, we did almost score from that first corner!
God this Wrexham are lucky thing is getting as boring as the whining during our Championship season.
Let's not go full Arsenal lads, it just makes us look tedious
Even Wrexham's own fans have called themselves jammy!

It’s quite simple: win our remaining nine games and we win promotion*
*barring Wrexham also winning their remaining games and going goal crazy, overturning a seven goal swing.
@eric_plant as a Gasroom veteran surely you must be used to people whining about topics you don't think are important by now?
Hopefully Gasroom 3 will have a repetitive whining filter which will make everyone's life a bit jollier.
There won't be many posts on here if such a filter is installed.
Some commentator on Japan had a clever quote
If you removed everything I disliked about Japan I wouldn't like Japan.
Who said I wasn't used to it?
Just need to break a couple of important barriers tomorrow first.
Winning 2 in a row for the first time in seemingly months.
Win on a Saturday!
