I’m still seething about MB’s departure too and it’s cathartic to talk about it with other fans. Please don’t try and stop people discussing things because you have a different view.
I personally am capable of skipping past the stuff I don't feel the need to read, whether that is dissing or praising Dodds or Rice, slagging off the club heirarchy in general, rehashing the MB departure, questioning the recruitment policy or size of squad or matchday selections, or the Trust, or the lack of improvements to Adams Park and on and on ad nauseum in some cases.
It is equally possible to "block" those posters who you dont wish to read/interact with at all.
...but that Dodds bobs about, scratching his face, avoiding eye contact, saying 'moments' in interviews and chewing gum badly. You can't just ignore that!
I think one of the main differences between early Blooms and early Dodds is that Blooms has always had a stated aim of being attacking and scoring goals - he could just not figure out how to get that done for a while. However, with Dodds it seems the stated aim is to control the game. In other words, we could tell with Blooms when we were transitioning from him not playing the way he wanted to into a team that DID play the way he wanted to, whereas for all we know we are already playing the way Dodds wants to, which makes it harder to see where we are mapping against his aims, if that makes sense?
Blooms always seems to want to score more than the opposition, whereas now we seem to be trying to concede less than the opposition. Both mean the same thing technically, but the focus is different.
Dev C I agree with the majority of your sentiments. Someone used the phrase that they feel disconnected from the club at the moment, which I suppose is a reflection of the upheaval in the last few months and the possible loss of that special culture that has been built up over many years. It’s a new world we have to accept, a new reality, where money seems to be no object. Our families journey has taken us from non league to the Championship with an FA Cup semi final en route. I know I shouldn’t be but I’m uneasy about our future.
So why not move on from being critical of those who still feel the whole sorry saga between MB and DR is still something they want to discuss?
Personally I feel there is still a lot of detail we don't know about just what was said or done, or not said nor done. Quite likely we will never know but for some that really matters.
Clearly for yourself it doesn't matter, but asking to move on simply to avoid having to deal with knowing what the detail might be isn't healthy IMHO. It appears you are simply burying your head in the sand - that's never going to end well.
I wonder if the Newcastle supporters wearing Saudi garb day one after the takeover demanded that any conflicted supporters move on. Asking for a friend.
Don't move on from your Westergaard enthusiasm though. I absolutely don't see what you're seeing, but I applaud the optimism and I'll be proper chuffed for you if any of it does come true.
Yep, I'm afraid he's had so little time on the pitch so far I couldn't even say what his strengths are. It is pure wishful thinking he's quality or will show he is.
Hopefully the goal trail starts tonight, though I'd take a horribly unjust own goal if that's what it takes for a win.
Don’t spout rubbish and that’s rich coming from you who relentlessly abuses posters who have the temerity to disagree with your views. I recall that you admitted that you were a bellend didn’t you. You are the expert at promoting disharmony mate.
Im certainly not burying my head. We will never know what the actual truth behind Bloomfield going unless you were present at meetings etc. So why keep racking over it. Boring. Focus on the team and what they are doing.
That's the thing though - a lot of people do very much know, hence the upset.
I think if this was just 'Manager X who I really liked got sacked a bit early after a bad run' or something like that, it would hit differently. But this is a very symbolic, sliding doors season where a broom has been taken to pretty much everything that we were as a club and a club legend was treated like dirt. This will echo and ripple on and on as the years go by.
It's totally understandable to feel differently, but I would just point out that what people are upset about is nothing that can be moved on from in reality, because we are stuck with the instigators. How does one "move on" from Dan Rice, for instance? He is still running the club, so anything that is currently happening in the club traces back to him and decisions he has made.
Uh-oh, I have a new conspiracy theory. Did the club think Mike Dodds looks enough like Rasmus Bertelsen, complete with baseball cap, that perhaps the Danish players would be fooled? Instead, things have been tense as the two Danes are outraged over the bait-and-switch.
Per @Wendoverman, if we find out Rasmus chews with his mouth open, that will be the smoking gun.

Do you not have the capacity to ignore a post?

Hoping to see an improvement tonight, no reason why we can't get the 3 points and set us up nicely for 2 winnable home games.

This is my policy too. It’s all about the football at the moment, I’ll deal with everything else in the summer.

I skip all the football and 'promotion' stuff just to focus on that.
100%.
Everyone has their own specific area of obsession, but it's not always best for the forum to keep on about it.
Though I will personally love it if Westergaard comes good shortly. Whenever he's on the bench I can't wait for him to come on!
Though I do have previous with Rolando Aarons... I still hope he'll come good!

Please don’t criticise our esteemed Gasroom leader - we’ll have to worry about the threats to close down the forum. (Again.)
The forum IS closing down. Tell someone to "move on" for long enough, and they will.
All I’m asking is to move on.

I think we should move on from saying move on, it's the only way we can move on.
I wonder if the Newcastle supporters wearing Saudi garb day one after the takeover demanded that any conflicted supporters move on. Asking for a friend.
If only people could move on from the stuff I personally don't want to hear, but chat repeatedly about what I do want to.
Though I might have to create gasroom 4 for that in fairness.
Brave post from one of the people who relentlessly used the down thumbs to bully Micra.

Westergaard is your Sadlier, mate. Own it and love it. Though of course Sads has no real equivalent in football.
Im certainly not burying my head. We will never know what the actual truth behind Bloomfield going unless you were present at meetings etc. So why keep racking over it. Boring. Focus on the team and what they are doing.
Though at least Sadlier had shown a bit for you to cling onto!
I'm relying on a bit too much of a "he must be quality he cost loads innit".
I assume Sadlier is signed on for next season? Never actually easy to follow who is and isn't.
Totally agree with your comments. @drcongo is very happy to tell posters to f..k off if he doesn’t like their comments.
In fairness you haven't made it on the gasroom until the doc has given you a right serve on here.
But usually it is deserved at least to some extent.

Don’t bite @Shev we’ve only just got you back
As you can see, despite the love from the majority you are well out of it @drcongo
Good luck Gasroom 3! 🙂
Leave it @Shev step away and concentrate on the chewing...
I think if this was just 'Manager X who I really liked got sacked a bit early after a bad run' or something like that, it would hit differently.
Should I complain about the sacking of manager x? Not until I find out his name.
(Joke stolen from Woody Allen)
