The Heroes of HP12

Not seen it mentioned much on here but The Heroes of HP12 podcast is generally a good listen. I enjoy regular Wycombe content and think it’s great hearing a group of proper fans get together weekly and chat all things Wycombe. No idea if any of the lads post on here but if you are, good work and keep it going.

  • Great post as I’d never heard of that before and had a listen and it is great. It’s like sitting at a table in a pub listening to other fans. I loved the summary of the red card ‘whether you are playing at the Rye on a Sunday or Old Trafford at 3 on a Saturday, that’s a sending off’.

  • I hope whether you are playing at the Rye on a Sunday or Old Trafford at 3 on a Saturday, it is a yellow card according to the laws of the game, as stated by Keith Hackett.

  • I’ll go with what Hackett has said then as I was queuing at the bar when it happened and haven’t seen the replay. Although at £6.50 a pint with the worst service ever, I wish I’d not bothered,

  • It was red…I’m a ref…excessive force and dangerous play

  • If it wasn’t a red why wouldn’t we appeal it? Anyway, red or not the podcast is worth a listen, usually out on a Wednesday or Thursday.

  • Because you're only going to get a red rescinded that was a mistake, rather than a 50-50 call either way

  • I think we did appeal it, and the appeal failed

    Might be wrong though

  • ps I enjoy the podcast as well

  • I’m really enjoying the podcast…keep it going lads!

  • i really enjoy listening to the podcast.

Whilst it’s been really nice experiencing Ringing the Blues go from a fan labour of love into a professional corporate product, I do miss some of the freedom Phil had to comment on different aspects of the club.

Heroes of HP12 fills the gap nicely and I really appreciate the effort that goes into to it.

  • Independent ‘Ringing the Blues ‘ was a sharp, at times irrelevant, sideways take on Chairboys fandom.

Sorry to go against the general love in on this thread but, for me, ‘Heroes’ is something of a dull men’s club stream of consciousness, so in fact a bit like sitting pre match in The Vere. Sorry.

Oh and, at the risk of joining a dull men’s club, it bugs me when folk pronounce H as ‘hach’, its pronounced ‘ach’.

  • Yes the independent version was brilliant, I rarely listen to the official version now.

For me HP12 fills that void somewhat and also feels like it could be me and my mates doing it if we could be bothered / knew how to make a podcast.
