  • Leahy has been very good tonight. I'm the first to slate him normally.

  • All the subs have kept the same shape, and pretty like for like.

It's not the time to throw players on for the sake of it. Magnus is likely a Scowan type replacement and Lowry is a Humphreys replacement. But no need to give up control.

  • I spoke too soon - I can see a few players preparing to come on

  • Though this be madness, yet there is method in it

  • Yes! Westergaard!

  • Doddsy needs to work on his chewing technique.

Either brown envelopes or remarkable luck. Today Huddersfield had a goal wrongly disallowed for offside. Wrexham then go and score an actual offside goal themselves

Add that to the insane injury time penalty for handball against Blackpool, and the winner v Crawley with the last touch of the game where their goalscorer blatantly fouled his marker. That's just off the top of my head. I remember they got a few other crazy decisions earlier in the season

  • Could add 2,000 to the gate if he kept his mouth shut.

  • Lowry is a livewire

  • Lowry came to have a few minutes of fun!

  • Lowry is still my pick of the bunch from Jan, he’s got some serious silk

  • Looks tidy, excited by him. Not sure how he didn’t get a free kick looked a blatant foul.

Solid performance all round, roll on Saturday and another 3 points.

  • I like Lowry. He's going to frustrate the fans though.

  • Thought that was the best game under Dodds so far, team playing really good football .

Professional performance. Complete control all over the pitch, and should've had 4 or 5 goals in truth. Scowen, Humphreys, Udoh and the back 4 imperious. Lowry very impressive off the bench.

An annoying result at Huddersfield. It seems to have gone without mention here that Wrexham play Reading on Tuesday 11th before coming to AP that weekend, meaning they play 2 games to our 1 in that time. If they win both, they'll be ahead of us before kick off regardless of our result this Saturday. I'll be begging Steve Evans to do us a favour this weekend.

  • That was (ignoring the scoreline) a throwback to October when we played single pivot. Created shed loads. And didn’t look that solid at the back. Some minor tweaks required but obviously pleased with tonight. Well done lads

  • Good solid win that, just what we needed. Should've scored more, especially in the 1st half hour. Keeper made some good saves though to be fair.

Some good performances, quite possibly the best we've seen from Leahy this season, he was excellent, at the centre of everything we did. It was a dominant midfield, with Bakinson and Westergaard both looking promising off the bench.

A note on Webster though. I thought he was one of the most impressive opposition players I've seen this season. Burton have a real chance of staying up with him in the team once they get their injured strikers back. Despite our superiority at times, I thought they looked a decent side in patches.

  • Luke Leahy Midweek Masterclass 😎

  • Total professional performance.

Kone was superb. Leahy superb. Humphreys was outstanding.

Thought Reach had another good game. Grimmer was superb both defensively and offensively. Josh the usual bulldog bossing the midfield. Thought Fred had a better game today, a couple of wayward passes but much improved. Love Udoh’s workrate, running all the time like at Birmingham. Great goal and could of had at least one more.

Nothing to say about our boys at CB, they’re just machines. We’re so lucky, Especially with someone as good as Bradley on the bench.

Norris with a great save in second half.

Can’t say too much about the subs, Lowry looks very exciting, Westergaard did nothing wrong and had a nice link up with Lowry and Reach. Bakinson looked positive today and moved the ball forward with a couple of nice touches and a good through pass.

Wrexham have taken the sheen of the result for me; I don’t mind if they win, it’s how they win. Surely their luck is going to run out at some point? We just have to focus each game. Destiny is still in our hands for the autos. Bring on Peterborough!

  • Let's hope we teach them a lesson at our house

  • JJ on Sky speaking very positively on Dodds from what he’s heard from conversations he’s had with some of the players. Good to hear

  • He's been involved in coaching since he was young, he seems like a real football person. Probably hard to to take to him if you like football!

  • That was a really solid performance tonight. Everyone played their part and I can’t think of anybody who didn’t perform. Leahy was brilliant, the lads at the back were solid as usual and Udoh was playing with an extra bit of determination.

In terms of Burton, I’d be happy if we had Crocombe on our books as he made some great saves. In terms of outfield players, Lofthouse was their stand out player.

The majority of results have gone our way and this place should be a lot more upbeat heading towards the weekend. We have to fancy our chances of picking up another 3 points at the weekend.

  • Almost total control bar a couple of hairy moments. A very reassuring and pleasing win, easy on the eye and every starter an 8/10 or above.

Have the majority of results gone our way...? The Stockport result yes, but Charlton, Bolton and Wrexham all won. We were superb tonight but I really feel like we need Wrexham to drop some points over the next 4 (including at AP) in order for us to finish 2nd. Their run in after we play them is fairly routine.

  • That touch from Lowry to pluck the ball out of the sky was something special. The crowd gasped.

  • Fully agree. They've got a very kind run-in. I'd like us to be 6+ points ahead of them after we play them, which is looking very unlikely. I do think they'll drop points before playing us though. And we'll be fresher for the game against them given that they are playing in midweek

  • Wrexham play Rotherham next who have a couple of wins on the bounce. Whilst we’re approaching mid-table dead rubber territory, we’re not quite there yet, so I believe Rotherham will go there looking for three points but they really are middling with quite a gap from both the playoffs and relegation zones.

  • I think so. 3 teams in the top 6 won, 1 of which was us. The gap is 10 points between us and Bolton and they have a far inferior goal difference plus we still have the opportunity to take 3 points against Wrexham. If we didn’t have Wrexham to play I would agree but we are still in control of our own fate.
