Very quiet on the Birmingham forum. Most think they'll win and a few go for a draw. More fun on Twitter where a number of fans think we are FC Tinpot and this is our cup final.
Interested to see how Dodds plays this. By nature of the table, this will be one of the only games left this season where we aren't favourites. Brum keep the ball for fun, and whilst we aren't overly possession heavy, it's clear that's the overall plan.
Dodds is clearly a great player coach who improves individuals, but fascinated to see if he'll tinker tactically and set us up to play on the break and raid them.
Wycombe can win this Birmingham not used to teams attacking them and playing football , Kone having a good game is key to this though. Can see a draw at least unless the ref decides to send one of our players off early like their last game.
Will be a very interesting game to watch. I have a feeling a lot Mike Dodds first games have been with half an eye on this one (and the Wrexham game) in that he has focused on controlling games as much as possible and solidifying an already pretty solid defence to make sure we don’t give ourselves an up hill start against our near rivals.
Couple that with the fact the two aforementioned teams are more likely not going to play with the “sit back and stifle” tactics we have come up against recently we’re more likely to see what a Mike Dodds team will look like.
Still going with a ‘Mingham win but think we’ll give a good account of ourselves.
You often get travel hipsters claiming that a country's second city is where the real action is. I've heard people say Osaka is a better place to visit than Tokyo. Porto is better than Lisbon. Melbourne>>>Sydney.
But you'd have to be on meths to try and make a case for Birmingham.
This is probably a match for that double pivot that Dodds appears to like playing. I suspect he'll go with Pattenden at right back though my preference would be for Fin Back which allows us to play better on the break. It's a match for Fred and Gmac to show that class is permanent. Kone to return and the rest of the team picks itself.
Second Cities tend to have a bit less infrastructure and politics than capitals and a bit more culture, Osaka, Porto and Melbourne are all great places btw.
Let's be honest Manchester is the UK's second city.

Sky sports+, NOW (and maybe wanderers TV given kick off @bluntphil /@ProducerLuke_ ?)
COME ON WYCOMBE!
Will Ryan Allsop be playing?
If so start Sam Vokes and stick a load of crosses on the six yard line for me

@BSE wishing you a speedy recovery from your cold! 😉

Huge day for Kone. Shine here in front of nearly 30,000 and on Sky TV and his stock will rise even higher.
i hope he plays without fear and we make an effort to win this. We do and it makes a statement to the chasing pack.
Play timorously for the draw and even if we get it, we look like we don’t have the belief that we’re second on merit.
COYB!

Birmingham has more miles of canals than Venice, apparently. And for Indian food lovers, the Balti triangle is hard to beat.
But that's about it.
If we are level at HT we will win it. COYB!! Just heading off to the game.

I’d go with as close to the Stockport away starting XI as possible - but with a double pivot
Well @Kim_il_Swan, you are my commanding officer...are you making a case for Birmingham?

6th by population
Birmingham 347th by accent
Big call, Kone on the bench. Probably fair as Udoh has been in good form.
Not since the Taboo Cinema closed in 2020. Very close to Moor Street Station as well. You could see it from the platform if you peered over the fence.
you need your top goalscorer and best player starting
Kone can't start with hair like that.
100% Unless they aren’t completely fit and on the way back from injury
Kone decision totally perplexes. Rest of it is decided with ease. Kone bench? Really?
We don’t know if Kone is fully fit
We don’t know if Kone was affected by all the transfer speculation.
one to trust the manager on.
Phil and Brian on comms on WTV
At least we have our best commentary team starting the match
Alfie may not. Hope not. Hysterical PA man.
Pitch very poor. Undersoil heating effect?
Birmingham fans in two hours time.....
