  • Does look like this is now a complete sell out of both home and away areas. Must be quite a long time since we last had one of those??

  • Ipswich away in 2023 must've been pretty close. Not sure how many they gave us but the away end was pretty full that day and the home areas were completely sold out

  • 29,408 with 1,999 Chairfolk

  • Hiya,

I'm just posting on Steve's behalf 'cause he has an unexpectedly busy day today :)

With a complete sell-out announced , you guys are welcome to keep predicting but from this point onwards your predictions won't count in the season-long competition. Poor Steve was so annoyed with himself when he realised it was a sellout and he hadn't made a prediction himself but luckily his computer screen survived the announcement intact xD

He also wanted me to pass on his apologies that he didn't post any warnings to you guys as a sellout got more and more likely. Here's hoping that we put on a proper show for the St Andrews crowd ;)

  • Game was fully sold out at 12.26 yesterday according to the clubs twitter feed.

  • Oh that’s a shame I’ll predict anyway Birmingham 29.400 Wycombe 1.998

  • 27,789 with 1,968

  • 29,300 with 2000

  • 29345 with 1999 Chairboys

  • Wycombe Wanderers on Twitter/X have tweeted that this is the "biggest away crowd for a league game in a generation".

What is the most recent League away game where we took more than 2000? It can't include the playoffs because we took 2228 to MK for the second leg in 2022.

Recent large away league attendances include:

    Charlton (Dec 2024) - 1457

    Reading (March 2024) - 1652

    Oxford (Oct 2023) - 1467

    Oxford (Oct 2022) - 1386

    Burton (April 2022) - 1622

    Wimbledon (April 2022) - 1200

    Oxford (Sept 2021) - 1505

    MK (Feb 2020) - 1834

    Oxford (Dec 2019) - 1802

Having gone through Chairboys on the Net, I've found the answer!

    Reading (a), 22 September 2001. We took 2711

Edit: I missed out QPR (a) on 29 December 2001. We took 2343 that day. So we did it twice in one season, but not since then

  • I think Reading was the 'orange away day'

  • I read on another site that we returned some tickets does anyone if it's true?

  • @WanderingDays You're right. QPR on that date, but for some reason I've got 2,298.

At least 60 away followings for FL matches over 1,000.

    Only about eight over 2,000.

  • Was this when we got two red cards and it turned out to be "mistaken identity?" (McSporran and Senda). To solve the problem the ref sent both of them off.

  • That’s the one.

Gallen was celebrating like he’d won the Champions League after he won a penalty. At this point McSporran was 50 yards away and Senda took umbrage to Gallens celebrations. A large scuffle took place with McSporran turning up late as he was so far away.

Senda was in the middle of everything and the ref immediately sent him off, though he’d actually sent McSporran off by mistake.

He then conferred with his linesman and sent Senda off to. QPR then missed the penalty. This all happened just before half time with the scores 1-1.

Superb atmosphere in the away end and we managed to score twice in the second half with only 9 against 12.

Unfortunately QPR scored 3 in the second half and we lost 4-3.

    Epic away day.

  • Just watched the highlights from this incident and at one point the ref had actually sent off Keith Ryan!!

  • “Nine men, we only had nine men” rang out from the visiting contingent at full time. I was in the top tier, had to bend in half and lean forward to see the corners being taken. Should be a great atmosphere tomorrow. Hopefully no kerfuffles about seating, standing and general goonery. And hopefully all three points in a famous win!

  • What are the 8? Before 2001-2002 COTN doesn't give away figures?
