How we follow up Tuesday's comfortable win over Bristol Rovers will be interesting, we have to assume the Wigan backline will be harder to press and subdue. Keeping up the crisp passing in midfield will be key, with Simons, Scowen and Humphreys you'd back us to do that.
Lubala on the left is going to hamper us again, but it is not really his fault or Dodds - as Kim said above, Berry is whatever comes after an afterthought right now (for whatever reason), Fred deserved to be dropped (as someone else said), and the real magician there, Sadlier, is still injured.
That being said, hopefully Simons' range of passing can override that and Bez can get a goal he has deserved for his industry and willingness to put a shift in wherever.
Sam Avery is excellent but is used to commentating on radio. Richie (?) was with Phil on Tuesday and drove people mad by talking non stop and lacking wit or empathy.
Oh for Jeeves and Catchpole. At least they would inject some jollity into the occasion. The dour man started the match with the fascinating observation that Wycombe were beginning to impart themselves on Wigan. I’ve a feeling he is much younger than he sounds.
The crowd are trying their best, but any early enthusiasm is draining away and the kids are starting to fidget. Not much more than low paced pitter patting it round the back before launching diagonals.
Indeed. If we score first, we may not need him as Wigan have not won a single match in which they have conceded first. On the other hand, we need all three points.
Comments
That's definitely the strongest bench we've ever had.
James Berry is so forgotten he doesn't even make the 'Why isn't he in the squad?' comments
Thoroughly enjoying the Reading game. If only they could clinch it with a Wrexham style winner.
Chem Campbell, Wing and Alsopp very impressive.

COME ON YOU BLUES!
Yeah, Wigan likely to be better than Brizzle Rovers, eight kids out of the local nursery probably would be.
Busy down here today, the sunshine and quid a kid brings them flocking in...
Isn't he injured? He was when we signed him
Potentially and barely played 90s for them this season anyway
Good lineup and we can do our classic switch the whole front 3 60-70 if needs be like early season if needs be.

Brilliant looking line up. Hopefully Kone and Lowry can get some minutes as well. Coyb
Who are these guys on Comms?
Where’s Phil?
Shit. I've got several hundred stills from the Inbetweeners with pithy captions just raring to go....
These commentators are trying to curse us!
Sam Avery and the same co-comms from Tuesday I think?
Cheers. The co-comms guy seems a little more muted today, which is actually a great balance for him.
Probably saw the stinging criticism!
I’m restricted to following on live text today. How are we doing? Scowen hits the bar and looks like we’ve dominated?
Wigan are trying to keep the game at a slow pace, but we are still looking much more dangerous and have created a few half-openings.
Simons looking good again, but front three still not firing against a good defence.
Fairly dull so far, a consequence of both teams being happy to keep possession in their own half for long periods.

Thrilling, this
We are basically waiting for Kone.
I'm a fan of Doddsball. Very controlled.

Fingers crossed for the second half.

If Dodds is going to chew gum on the touchline I wish he’d learn to do it with his mouth closed. Nobody wants to see that.
Nice to see them adding on the right amount for Wigan's shameless time-wasting...
