  • A badge that's even crapper than ours. Astonishing.

  • Roundels ruined everything.

We’ve got to back-up Tuesday’s controlled performance and cement our position.

They lost their standout player to Loo’Un and can’t buy a win.

But you just know Dale Taylor will score…

  • I think it’s supposed to be a modern recreation of this badge from the 70s

  • He’s actually got a decent strike rate for them, 7 goals in 27 apps (of which 7 as sub) - I remember him as a decent player for whom we rarely played to his strengths, the absolute low point being Orient away (the “Bloomfield Out” game) where we thought it was a good idea to hoof it up to him.

I didn’t realise he was still only 21.

  • Five years ago today was the last home game with fans allowed before the Covid lockdown. How time flies.

  • Good news re. Pattenden, Sadlier and Grimmer:

  • I thought Sadlier signed from Bolton not Orient?

  • You are correct, I suspect the esteemed Mr Richings was looking at Sadlier’s list of clubs - whilst Orient was indeed his most recent club prior to signing for us, he was only on loan to them from Bolton.

  • Not much on the Wigan forums about this game. General consensus is a Wycombe win or they will pinch a draw. One chap did think they will turn us over 4-0, must be on pint number 5 in spoons.

  • To Fred or not to Fred, that is the question 🧐

Expecting a largely unchanged team from Tuesday although expect to see King in the matchday squad with perhaps a 10 min cameo at the end in readiness for Birmingham.

  • The beauty of this league - on Saturday when we play Birmingham, we could be 12 points behind them or 3 points behind them. Reading and Orient up for them, before they face us. A Reading win in the lunch time kick off and a Wycombe win today would be fantastic. Too much to ask?

  • I wouldn't be surprised to see the same starting 11 as Tuesday, with maybe a couple of changes on the bench

Wigan don’t score many but they don’t concede many either (31 - equal with us), and generally games between us are low scoring. Hopefully any first-time children and families won’t be scarred for life by a dreadful 0-0 or 1-0 reverse. Maybe we’ll see Magnus on the bench if Leahy has shown any ill effects of that horror tackle on Tuesday. We’ve got so many options.

edit - Wigan are the lowest scorers in the division with a paltry 28 goals from 30 games. So entertainment and a 5-5 guaranteed.

  • Nice 3-0 win today

  • Wonder if Mike’s got the squad watching the Reading v Birmingham match? More likely during the week. Don’t want to scare the lads today !

  • Family stand sold out.

Probably answers the question about whether pricing has an impact.

  • Birmingham have yet to muster up a shot on target.

  • Birmingham winger Scott Wright off badly injured.

  • Having now watched a quarter of an hour, I don’t think we’ve too much to worry about.

Alfie May on bench. Another bogie for us to lay.

    Incredible that is.

Another one, is it doesn't seem that many years ago I was at Wembley to watch Wigan win the FA cup final 1-0 v City!

Bit random how I ended up at that one - I noticed there was a website that "guaranteed" you a ticket for Wigan FA cup games, and you only had to sign up.

Couldn't believe that it wasn't locked as Wigan got through the semi, so signed up after that, and took 2 pals from work into the bargain!!

Only "check" was a guy over the phone saying what's my interest in the game.

"I'm a Wycombe fan" I said very quickly and unclearly....obviously heard as Wigan and job done.

  • No I think it'll be 4 weeks from whatever date we apply it from.

Wonder if he'll actually get near it when he's back anyway?

We already have Lubala, Udoh, Fred and Berry who can play over there. And it'll be a big ask to have 4 months out (or 5 when he's back) and suddenly step into a promotion battle.

  • Kone on the bench, no Danes

  • Great to see Jasper back, extra resilience in defence. Fred will hopefully be raring to go if and when he comes on.

  • Line up seems fair. They said Back was cramping up in the ladt game, so probably not ready for 2 in a few days anyway.

The Danes clearly not ready as per the manager interview, so no one can be surprised they aren't included.

    Fred fairly dropped.

Good to see Kone on bench.

  • Fin Back not even on the bench. Was looking forward to seeing him again.

    Great to see Jasper back.

  • Looking forward to seeing more of Lowry.
