I think we need to take the fact they were at the end of their season and/or in the middle of a hefty mid season break in there respective leagues before they came to us into account a bit more.
The signings of Simons and Lowry could well be what sees us home. Charlton won’t be pushovers today and all we can do is worry about our own results, but closing that gap to 4 points could mean that by 1st March, our game with Birmingham is a six-pointer!
Also worth pointing out that Wrexham and Birmingham both have Tuesday night fixtures against Orient this month.
They probably are up, yes, but they’re not champions just yet. If we didn’t still have to play them, I would probably be conceding top spot too but that game could turn the tide.
The original Champions trophies stand 55cms high and are silver plated with three gold plated handles. The runners up receive a two handled trophy, 40cms high, in silver plate with gold handles.
If we finish second we get a two handled trophy instead of a three handled one. I can live with that.
Never mind “period of the season”. League One this season is as strong as its ever been and, as we’ve seen recently, the bottom four are all capable of springing surprises.
Sincerely hope this afternoon won’t be another one!
Sorry I meant for Birmingham. They have Charlton today. The expectation that they will win every game comfortably - they have some tougher fixtures coming up.
I do worry that without Kone we need Fred, Bez, or Dan to get goals. And despite being capable they are not consistent. I will be very interested to see what Dodds sees in the attack and where the goals are coming from.
Aside from Harvie, Low, Fred and Scowen the rest of the line-up is to be guessed.
We don't know if some of the changes last week were just due to being in the cup, or whether those players have the nod. Though Lowrie over Humphreys again would be a surprise.
And I've just assumed Scowen was a cup rotation and he's in my definite starter list.
Flitted back and forth up to half time between three of the five games on offer from SkySports+. What a goal fest. Three in total and two of the beggars from Wrexham, scored whilst I was at Cambridge where Mr staccato monotony was commentating.
Not sure whether to go back or use the time to catch up with a couple of episodes of Countdown which might be more gripping 🧐.

Doddsy, please.
What a beautiful sight.
Not that I think this will happen, but could Low, Bradley and Taylor all play together as a 3?
Fred and Harvie as wingbacks. Scowen and Simons with 2 number 10s behind Kone

I would be looking backwards to Wrexham rather than forwards to Birmingham. The latter are up. Forgot them

Hope not to be honest. We saw what happened when we did that v Huddersfield.
Thankfully we're not playing Charlton as they were one of only 4 teams to turn us over so far, with 2 being the first 2 games before we got settled.
But yes Crawley are to be treated as per Cambridge. Low end but we're into that period of the season where the crap teams aren't as crap as they were.
Not to mention we've dried up for goals a bit, probably have no Kone and are trying to bed in loads of new players.
Yep, this is the big thing we're relying on.
Probably a clever strategy bedding them in with short run outs for now.

Ah my mistake, I'd checked the opponents fixtures too but must have seen Birmingham home and just written it off!
Need Northampton to do a shut out on Wrexham like they did on us.
Wrexham on TV again obviously.1230

I hope for a finish like this. But please not this close.
Think i messed up the posting of the image. But I have us going up on one goal difference .

Get another laptop and a few monitors. Then a longer desk (or 2 desks) and you could set a massive nerve station of live football up.
Will Mrs @micra allow this expenditure?
