Wow! Observe someone to be somewhat taciturn and uneffusive compared to other interviewees and suddenly I am suggesting he's an abnormal serial killer rather than my preferred giggling sports celebrity? I fear even the gasroom is leaving me behind.
Was talking to a colleague this evening who's a Portsmouth regular. Tells me that Will Norris is a brilliant shot stopper but dreadful at distribution (interesting and not what I expected to hear given "data"). Also that he's the life and soul of parties off the pitch but demands to be the centre of attention at all times. And also that after he was dropped following the 6-1 defeat to Stoke earlier this season Norris refused to accept a seat on the sub's bench and was subsequently made available for transfer.
All this just gossip but apparently well established among Portsmouth fans. Hopefully none of it true but as he was telling me it I could only think of Max Stryjek....
Gossip, as you say. If true and known to those involved in his recruitment, I’d like to think that before we signed him there would have been a serious grown up discussion about any repetition of behaviour like that not being tolerated in any circumstances.
When studying philosophy at university one of the questions in the final exam was 'Define bravery'. Norris stood up, crumpled the paper into a ball and threw it at the examiner, shouting 'THIS'.
He was awarded a First. The examiner was uninjured as Norris missed by a mile as his distribution was shit even back then.
I like my goalkeepers unhinged. John Budgie Burridge sleeping in his gloves was the stuff of legend. And I’ve just remembered him giving an interview towards the end of his career where he was saying that he wasn’t good enough anymore only for his mum to keep interjecting that he was.
So hearing a keeper is not a conformist is fine by me.
Looking at some of the subsequent comments, especially the brilliant (longer) post from @Kim_il_Swan (whose posts often baffle me and led me to suggest the nickname Jude) those words of mine now sound horribly pompous.

Let us all remember these wise words.

Although the title sequence does make it look like Mr Drummond was a child snatcher.

He only appeared on the bench once following the defeat to Stoke so that part at least is true.
Hopefully he won’t let in six on Saturday.
Any rumours that Norris always insists on being placed at the captain’s table?

Blimey, from reading this I wish I’d sponsored someone else.
During the interview Dan Rice asked Norris "Where do you see yourself in three years time?" and Norris pointed at Dan and said "Where you're sitting"
I do hate "cocky kids"

To balance things out a little, one of my best mates is a Pompey fan, and he reckons Norris is a great bloke and was incredible last season
Will Norris>>>>>>>>>Chuck Norris
Well Will will obviously chuck Chuck, but given his poor distro in won't be in the direction he intended.

Sadly.
I suppose we’ve had to revert to long balls forward now that we have a keeper who is not comfortable passing the ball on the deck. Sad.
