Joe Low. Imperious for 125+ mins.
Thought Low was immense, Bradley solid, good to have Harvie back & Skura was pretty good as a makeshift RB, Bakinson was super doing all the unsung stuff breaking up attacks etc. Lowry looked very promising.
It was a toss up for me between Low & Bakinson, went for the former after afair bit of deliberation.
Toss up between Low and Bradley. Both behemoths. Went for Low
Bakinson? Great at breaking up play, but he couldn't trap a ball to save his life. His passing is non-existent. He wasted ball after ball for 120 mins
Bradley. I cannot understand why Derby let him go?
Bradley. But could be Low.
Going to be a big call next weekend on whether we bring Taylor straight back in.
I imagine Dodds will factor in the 120 minutes today - I know we’re not playing midweek but it’ll be a good enough reason to rest either Low or Bradley. A lot of us agreed that Low and Taylor was one of our best defensive partnerships ever and adding Sonny to the mix, we are blessed to have such strength in depth.
Yes that 120 mins gives licence to play it as "rotation" and "squad" game etc.
Not sure Anders is ready for a start, as otherwise you'd think Anders and Taylor would be a fresh duo.
Humphreys is 100% fresh at least!
Blimey I’d like to think a group of professional athletes could recover from playing an extra 30 minutes of football after 7 days.
I voted for Lowry but it’s good to see Bakinson getting some attention. I thought he did well today.
We need to get back to playing our best 11, especially having 7 days to recover. The rotation idea is not proving to be what we need.
For me:-
Rav
Grimmer, Sonny, Low, Harvie.
Scowen, Simons.
McCleary, Humphreys, Fred.
Kone.
If all fit.
That’s the team. Although I’m very keen to see Berry.
I think Berry and having Sadlier back may just add the pace and trickery to the front line that we need. 👍
Really is a tough call between Taylor and Sonny, could go either way, Sonny has been great but Caleb has been one of the main factors in our great start to the season. This won't be popular, only seen one game but I'd go with Norris over Rav as well.
I agree with your point re; Taylor and Sonny but I really think Rav needs to continue in goal for now as his performance at Cambridge etc deserves that. Eventually I think Norris will get the nod.
I agree there’s been too much rotation, although we don’t know the relative fitness of players.
I think Norris will be seen as our #1 and I’d have Taylor in ahead of Bradley (it’s close though). McCleary and Fred are our best wide options but their form is inconsistent at best so those places I do see changing more frequently than others.
Surely our best X1 is entirely dependent on who our opposition are?
There will be games when GMac will be the best choice to start, for example, and games when he misses out. It will all depend on who he is up against on the wing.
I didn’t see enough from Norris yesterday to justify him taking over from Rav. Made some decent saves that I would expect him to make but his distribution was certainly not an improvement indeed on a number of occasions it was rushed and lacked composure. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt in it being his first competitive game with the team but for the moment it’s Rav for me
