  • I struggle to remember any actual walls in there. It just seemed to be a huge space (admittedly with walls of some description holding it up).

To give an idea of the size of it (in my dodgy memory anyway) a full size bus didn’t seem to be a dominant feature at all.

  • It was National Tyres and Exhausts before the Emporium. Just a cavern of a place.

  • The first person to greet me this morning was Bodger Horseman. Can anyone beat that? I once saw Andy Kerr at Notting Hill Carnival.

  • Bumped into Matt Ingram, Alex Lynch and Charlie Horlock on the par 3 course at Wycombe Heights about 10 years ago.

Had a nice chat with them and played a few holes together, although I’d known Matt since I was about 8 and went to JHGS with him, so it didn’t seem anything out of the normal to me!

  • If you've given a thumbs down to @ChairboyTom, is there any chance you could explain why? Just curious.

  • In my homebase days I would often speak to Keith Ryan. He actually came in the week before the Liverpool game and i had a chat with him then. Would bump into him a few times over the next few years. I eventually moved to Swansea and on a visit back he remembered and asked how it was going down there. For someone who started supporting in the early 90's that was pretty cool.

  • Most recent ex-Wycombe player was during the Swansea street food festival. A Sunday evening two and half years ago saw me bump into Russell Martin. Went over and mentioned I'd been there for his goal against Macclefield and what a goal it was. I think he was stunned to meet a Wycombe fan in Swansea. Had a chat about Wycombe and it turned out he didn't live far from me in his early Wycombe days walking his dog round the Kingsmead!

  • I remember being in town one Saturday lunch time before a home game and saw Mark Westhead there shopping. Didn't say anything, but guessed (correctly) that he wasn't in the squad for that afternoon's match.

  • I once saw Keith Ryan at High Heavens tip, my old man used to bump into Scott Shearer in the woods around Booker Common walking his dog.

Another Wycombe fan claims that he once ended up speaking to David Titterton during the course of his work, and ended asking him if he was "David Titterton as in David 'get your tits out for the lads' Titterton?". I'm not sure he won his custom after that exchange...

  • c.1991 - Bath City away Davie Carroll in the bookies on Twerton High Street having a cheeky reverse forecast on the dogs

May 1990 - Magaluf pub - A few of the first-teamers on holiday watching the Cup Final replay on TV - had a good chat with Andy Kerr, who I vaguely recall was a United fan

Jan 1988 - Wealdstone away - bumped into Andy Graham heading to the ground on foot

Sep 1987 - Cheltenham away - shared a taxi from the station with @glasshalffull

  • Stood with Chris Brunt on the train to watch spurs vs real mardid a few years back...

Dan Cowley in the Nike store Bicester...

My cousin was flat sharing with Vincent Pericard a few years ago...

Had a conversation with Ricky Gervais in marlow, made him laugh too so that tops it all.

  • Saw Andy Rammell on family hols. Too much of a scaredy cay to say hello

  • See Darren Bent at Gatwick going on his family holidays, same day England jetted off for the 2014 world cup

  • Darren Bent never played for us

  • I think Mr @bigred87 has missed a critical "our" in the thread title.

Although I love that you allowed his post including mention of Ricky Gervais, who isn't even anyone's player!

  • I once looked out of the window in a meeting to see JJ and a few other players staring at the engine shed thing at the front of Wycombe station. It was one of those days where Gaz sent the squad out to learn about the town they played in.

I don’t suppose we’ll see the likes of that again.

  • Saw Andy Robinson working on a building site in Downley circa 95.

  • Did even bother reading the thread title in full... look like a right tw#t now

  • I think it was the Vincent Pericard line where I first started thinking hang on a minute here he's not ex.

Then the Rocky Gervais one sealed it🤣

  • ‘Look like a right tw#t now’.

Is that what you said to Gervais? ;)
