Yes he gave my son his gloves at the end of the game. We kept them in case he developed into an international superstar but sadly that hasn’t turned out to be the case!
I'm afraid not. The five keepers in five games we had between the end of 15/16 and the beginning of 16/17 were Siegrist, Ryan Allsop, Scott Brown, Cameron Dawson and Jamal Blackman.
Poor quoting of absolute arrogance in this quote? Thinking the former..
“Ibe, who has also represented England from under-18 to under-21 level, said on signing for the club: "It is an honour to Hungerford Town for taking me in and believing in my dream.”
Watched Oxford City v Forest Green in the Trophy yesterday. Big upset as City won 1-0. Josh Parker got the goal, hit the post and was generally superb all game.
He was head coach, not manager, and this is exactly why it's a good idea to keep recruitment separate (well, more separate than it would be under the traditional manager model).
"Jordon Ibe shows class on Hungerford Town debut as former Liverpool winger thanks fans
Former Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe showed moments of magic in his Hungerford Town debut on Saturday.
Ibe was subbed on in the 72nd minute against Havant & Waterlooville, with his new side already 1-0 up thanks to a George Smith header.
Playing as part of a front-two, Ibe showed early glimpses of his elite level experience, flicking the ball over the top of two challenges and causing chaos on the edge of the Havant box.
Ibe walked around the edge of the pitch at full time, posing for pictures with fans, many of whom had come to catch a glimpse of the former £15m man.
“He turned up a couple of weeks ago at training,” said manager Danny Robinson.
“He just said he wants to play football, he wants to smile, he wants to be in the changing room.
“He’s been really good, you can see the bits of quality he has.
“If we can get him up to fitness we know we’ll have a hell of a player until the end of the season.”
Robinson hopes to help Ibe, but is keen to learn as much as possible from the former Liverpool winger.
“I haven’t sat down and got behind the man, but I will do,” he said.
“One thing I can do is get people going, get people smiling again. That’s what I plan to do.”
“We joked the other day that he’s gone from Jurgen Klopp and Eddie Howe to Danny Robinson.
“But every player has a journey, and all my players are equal.
“Some managers think they know everything, but I learn every time I’m on the grass.
“He’s done things the average player could only dream of.
“I can tap into his knowledge, and the young players look up to players like him.
“He’s been very receptive to that.”
Ibe’s arrival wasn’t the only good news last week, with Jose Marquez’s loan from Forest Green being extended until the end of the season.
He’s been prolific in a front two alongside Kyle Tooze, and has provided the spark behind Hungerford’s revival.
“They’re both willing runners,” he said.
“They set the press.
“We ask them to try and get in behind and get up the pitch.
“Jose’s work-rate is outstanding for an 18-year-old kid.”
Hungerford went 1-0 up in the 67th minute thanks to a rare moment of quality in a game defined by a midfield battle.
“I could see us getting frustrated, that was annoying, because we’re on a good run at the minute,” he said.
“I felt we were slightly better, and the players felt that.
“The most important thing was to keep concentrating.
“Neither keeper had anything to do. Was it worth £14? No.
“The moment of quality came from Curtis Angell with a cross and George Smith with the header.”
Every win is priceless for a Hungerford side battling their way up the table.
A win on Saturday maintained their unbeaten record in 2025 and saw them move up to 12th place.
“It’s a big three points for us,” he said.
“I said to my wife this morning, if we win we look forward, if we lose we look behind us, that’s how important that win was.”"
Not to be a negative nelly.... I wish him every success and although mentioned that he needs to get fit etc.... I'm a little suprised to see the size of him tbh. A good 2 stone at least over his ideal...... me too brother.... me too.....

Give yourself a superfan point if you remember this one appearance wonder
Was that during the mid 2000s period where we had a new keeper every couple of games?
Home to Accrington at the end of the 15/16 season. Not a player or match that lives long in the memory. We lost 1-0.
Indeed. He was one of the "Famous* Five" goalkeepers in 2016, have another bonus superfan point if you can name the other four.
* = They got mentioned in the Guardian's The Knowledge feature if I remember correctly
Ingram, Allsop, Richardson, Lynch?

They’re collecting all of our ex players !
I thought Dan Scarr was quite good...scanning the Wrexham site they are blaming him in part for their Stevenage loss.
Another agent intent on our promotion?
Al-Hamadi has scored for Stoke at Hull. 1-1.
Only just barely an ex-player, but Josh Blunkell has made a good start to life with Needham Market in the Conference North.

He found his level and is enjoying his football. Good for him.

Jordon Ibe came on as a sub for Hungerford Town against Havant & Waterlooville yesterday.
Mike Williamson reportedly sacked by Carlisle.
Reported by Carlisle who should probably know.
7 minutes after I posted but thanks.
Willo sacked on the last day of the transfer window after bringing in a shed load of players…make it make sense

Just a horrible set up from day one there. I hope he gets another chance.
Having said that, it does seem pretty short-sighted to bring in THAT many players in one window then pull the trigger.

I hope he finds his happy place. Whether that is back in the pro game of just enjoying kicking a ball around at the lower end of the pyramid.
