Crikey, that 7-2 collapse was a real low point. I seem to recall that the rot set in well into the second half when Fred was adjudged unbelievably harshly to have committed a foul as he brought the ball out of the penalty area and heads really dropped when the resulting penalty was put away.
The only madder second half I can remember in my Wycombe supporting days was that Villa game in the cup where we were 3-1 up at half time, then literally everything Villa hit went in and they won 8-3!
...in 2006 (19 years ago)Matt Bloomfield played 90 minutes for Wycombe Wanderers in a goal-less League Two draw with Northampton Town at the Sixfields Stadium.
In 2024 (one year ago)Matt Bloomfield was manager of Wycombe Wanderers in a 4-1 EFL Trophy win over a Brighton & Hove Albion B-Team at Adams Park.
...in 2011 (14 years ago)Matt Bloomfield played 89 minutes for Wycombe Wanderers in a 2-1 League Two win over Cheltenham Town at Adams Park (replaced by Scott Donnelly).
In 2020 (five years ago)Matt Bloomfield came on as a 87th minute substitute (replacing Dominic Gape) for Wycombe Wanderers in a 2-0 League One defeat to the Franchise.

I wonder if Darren Drysdale was involved.
I’m still cross about that penalty.
I’m ragin’ again.
2-2 up to 43 mins, then lost 7-2!

I know people keep disliking these posts, but it is enjoyable for me to see the different layers of Blooms' career on various days.

Love the precise synchronicity (if that’s the correct term).
