There is a wonderful few minutes at 12.15 today on football focus where ex Wycombe player Dion Dublin says 'going forward' (whilst talking about Bournemouth)more times than he says 'the stairs...leading up to the bedroom!' (so 15 mins in on iPlayer)
Indeed. I think Dublin is great. Don't understand the antipathy towards him from a lot of people online. He's always full of enthusiasm while certain other pundits come across like being paid to chat about football is a huge chore.
I would love you to be right and me to be wrong, but in the pre-game interview with Vokes, he said that he had been training, but implied that a return to actual playing might come later in the season.
Very different being chucked in as interim after a sacking. As has been pointed out elsewhere, he must be a good coach or he wouldn't have been kept on by a succession of managers / head coaches. Would honestly rather this than someone who's been around the merry-go-round countless times.
No denying he's a good coach. The average tenure in the efl in the 19-20 season (don't know the up to date stat) was 423 days. We have been blessed and got used to having longer term managers. So I personally don't mind a 'merry go manager' if they have had good experiences and haven't jumped ship at the first better offer. To me if we're going to appoint a young up and coming manager with limited first team experience then why rock the boat and change things when we have Grace and Vokes doing a good job so far? Replacing them with experience at this level or higher then fair enough. To me Dodds would seem an odd appointment.
also 'looking at the data' shows that the last two Wycombe Wanderers managers were pretty much appointed 'in house' (colchester secondment notwithstanding) and both were successful. Onto Cambridge, come on you Blues!
Too early to say whether they're doing a good job imo - we've certainly ridden our luck. Grace might be desperate to get back to his main job anyway. Let's give the bloke a chance!
The longer this search goes on, and each game we tick over the wins, the more they'll have to entertain the idea of staying as we are until the summer.
Sam's a good coach, has his badges, had experience as a coach at Reading before being delighted to get back to his home team and he knows the players. So we could do worse.
Then a long term coach could be found in the summer potentially, when it might be an easier find. Plus with Rice overseeing transfers we wouldn't lose time which is the normal risk with not having a manager in situ.

Says the biggest drone on the Gasroom…..🙈
You know there's an ignore button

Let's goooooo........to Luton!!!!!
AAAGGGHHHHH!!!!!
Same source as @DJWYC14 on Tuesday?
Mike Dodds there today, I understand
That's quite an accolade on here!
Judging by that reaction, he's not gonna be a popular choice 😬
I love it when people quote their own posts
Agreed
With 5 minutes to go he is still passionately saying 'going forward!'
I wish Dion Dublin was my dad. What an excellent man.
You’d have thought that we’d have kept Hanlan for today’s game if Kone is out. Leaves us slightly light up too. Vokes on the bench maybe.
I think if that's so, it's a good chance for Udoh and Lubala to play more central, tbh they aren't really wingers are they ?
Maybe @flymofrank is just pulling our leg after the pre-match meltdown on Tuesday when we all thought Kone wasn't in the squad.
I hope I'm being led up the garden path, but I'd be surprised

any coach with a 22% win record and who has managed hardly any first team games unlikely to be a popular choice IMHO
Hanlan isn't really effective through the middle though is he? Whereas Lubala and Udoh are strikers that we have to shoehorn wide for Kone.
Agreed. He might present non football related programs but why is that an issue.
I can't imagine anyone who watches football prefers the Dixon morose approach versus the uplifted Dublin, McCoist types.

Chris Davies has done alright at Birmingham for someone with no managerial experience!
Dion is my hero
McCoist is an absolute joy to listen to on co-coms.
McCoist is my absolute fave, lives for the game and you usually get a bonus history lesson too

Dodds has coached better quality players e.g. Bellingham
