Used to bump into Martin quite a lot on Saturday nights, when he was picking up his Chinese takeaway from the Jasmin Restaurant in Beaconsfield New Town. He was always very polite.
And who could forget Steve McGavin having his regular sit down lunch at The Tuck-In fish and chip shop, while Miquel Desouza peered at the lingerie in the window of Feathers?
Although that might have just been some old rubbish in The Adams Family.
Must be 20+ years ago now but stood at the bar in the Brewhouse in Oxford waiting to talk to the landlord and not really paying attention until the bloke next to me says to the barman, "I think this gentleman was before me". Turned round to see Keith Ryan and Simon Stapleton. Could just about blurt out something about not waiting to be served. I even had my Wycombe scarf in my coat pocket but was simply too starstruck to say anything more. Very nice, polite chaps though.
Nick Freeman in the lift at Charing Cross. My friend a stevenage fan talked about their mutual friend Jay Dillon as we went up and about his injury when playing for Wycombe
Anthony Stewart at Asda buying his fruit. Said hi. Smiled back and walked off.
Adam El Abd, Luke Onien and Joe Jacobson.. in the Giggling Squid Marlow. Got a photo and said hi. When their bill came Adam made the waitress put their credit cards in a bowl, mix it up and pick one out. Luke Onien ended up paying the bill.
Oh boy, I remember a few visits to the Attic in the mid 90's. Used to drink in the Roundabout back then and someone would come round with a load of flyers that got you cheap entry. I also recall shouting along to RATM in there. I should probably apologise for the same reason. Allowing for rose-tinted spectacles being powerful things, it was probably a bit crap, but since I would have been drunk on arrival I wasn't being fussy.
I loved that place when I lived in the flats overlooking the station. I seem to remember they had the odd jazz night which seemed very un-Wycombe at the time. Good times
Steve Brown and Danny Senda out drinking in what I think was called Bar Med, around 2004. Kevin Betsy near a cinema in Reading, I really wanted to talk him but he was late for something so couldn't stop. Darren Currie on the London Underground.
Andy Kerr - I’d driven up to Beaconsfield with a mate but then decided to have a few beers. At closing time we decided to walk back to Wooburn Town. At Holtspur we heard the sound of music and a party coming from a ground floor flat near the Harvester, my mate needed a pee so we crashed the party and Andy Kerr was the first person we saw. About 2 hours later we staggered home.
Roger Johnson - Stood at a pool bar next to him at Sandbanks for about 5 minutes until I realised who he was. It was in the middle of his torrid spell at Wolves, quite chatty after he realised I was a Wycombe fan and had positive things to say.
I used to play in to my early 40’s at Goals in Woodley on a Monday night with a group of mates. On at least three occasions Nathan Tyson was playing with his mates on the pitch next to us, he was playing for Doncaster at the time.
About 7/8 years ago I spent some time away from home and bumped in to Gavin Grant in the gym.
I was driving a van once down a single track road and coming towards me was a landscape gardening (I think) van. Passed each other slowly as you do, scraping the crap out of the side of the van on the branches, and I realise the other driver is Ben Townsend! I’m sure it was only a few years after the cup run which he was a crucial part of.

Had he just turned down a shit load of money to manage Notts Forest?

His recent episode of Stick to Football (other podcasts run by aging footballers are available) is excellent.

Used to hate the Orchard ! But somehow always seemed to end up there ! Bloody place
Sorry ! Thought I was replying to your other post about the Orchard !
Oh I also saw Rob Lee in John Lewis once too.
The London Bus Emporium also did children’s birthday parties. What a time to be alive.
London Bus Emporium sounds like @MorrisItal2 ‘s kind of place
Slightly off topic... but going along the lines of "places I remember, but no one else does"
Fagin's ... along Easton St. Used to be a great little bar
I should add, this would've been in the 80's... for all you confused youngsters

I saw them buying pants for Martin in Marks & Spencers.
Jacobson, O'Nien and Gape at behind the Compton stand at Lord's at some Middlesex T20 game, just a day or two before O'Nien left for Sunderland.
Always remember him running from the halfway line at Elm Park after an error to score in the Coca Cola cup as it was.
I see what you mean Chris but. joking aside I recommend the London Bus Museum in Weybridge they have a post war AEC Regent!!!!!

Now you mention Steve Brown, I remember seeing him finishing Silverstone Half Marathon in the mid 2000s.
Had a random phone call from Sammy Saunders on the way to a game.
He wasn't playing, he was checking on an order placed with the clothing company he owned for a bit.
I have a few random sightings over the years.

Early to mid 90s - Dave Carroll at Walthamstow Dogs, posh side.
On the way out, I also saw Vinnie Samways in the line for Charlie Chans nightclub.
I hope you asked Grant how his cold was?
