Very excited for today’s game! Hoping to see James Berry and, at the very least, some minutes from Westergaard at some point if he had reached match fitness.
Will be interesting to see Harvie’s fitness. Whilst there is no good time to be injured, this guy has played every game (bar his suspension) including the Swindon game so he must need a rest. Which I assume will mean Leahy in at LB and Butch as a number 6. Or, Westergaard get’s a start, but I can’t see it.
Would happily take a draw tonight. We always seem to struggle at home to Barnsley and they're very strong away from home. Not in anyway clear on what our line up will be either. Kone, who knows! Harvie, will he be fit? Ditto Udoh, especially relevant if no Kone. Will any of the new lads come in? Anyone correctly guessing the starting XI tonight will have done well.
Just had a strange feeling of positivity for this evening. Despite no news on the next manager I think if some new signings are involved then it’ll give the fans a lift this evening which we can hopefully relay to the team.
Come on Wycombe!
2-1 win with goals from Kone and a new player is my guess!
I feel the same. If Fred had headed that chance in after that amazing Kone run, we would all be in a different mindset, beating a very well organised Northampton.
I feel we’re going to come out firing on all cylinders tonight!!
Heard Kone isn't in the squad tonight, from a third party ITK..... far from definite and if they are wrong I will refrain from posting future rumours...!
I would also like to revise my 'no Kone, no promotion' stance if we really do get 10m. It's what I think he's worth, but an astonishing amount of money nonetheless.
If he does leave this window, I wish him all the best and what a wonderful 12 months he's had in the quarters. I'll be sad and hope it doesn't derail our promotion bid.
Hopefully we will get someone in on loan for the rest of the season as a makeweight, much like Sonny. Who thought we'd get a replacement for Callum Taylor a few weeks ago.
Not so long ago, any bid over £150-250k we would have had to take to balance the books/keep us afloat and most of us would have been delighted (I'm not saying that for Kone today). Football has accelerated again beyond all recognition. £6M for Kone is absurd really, in fact it's pretty disgusting given how many people are living in poverty etc etc.
Football seems to run in a completely different world to the one we live in.
I hope our last memory of him isn't that brilliant run through the Cobblers. If he is off it's a shame we didn't play him from the start - we might have two more points.
What a grim way to begin a matchday this is. It'll be damn tough for SG and team to get the players and fans up for it if true. With all due respect @DJWYC14, I hope you've been led up the garden path on this one.
The chat about Kone on Twitter/X doesn't look like anything substantial (yet) to me. Just noise, rather than anything from one of the journos that regularly pickup transfer scoops.

I'm presuming Harvie got injured on Saturday but not heard anything?
Was Udoh dropped on Saturday or injured?!
and, I hear, in all its 3D glory, at Adams Park.
@our_frank - that was laugh out loud funny

My mind went straight to that scene from Wayne's World 2
To be fair, we struggle to beat anyone at home recently! So I’ll take the odd win at AP for now!!

Just as Northampton at home always means a frustrating draw, Barnsley at home always means a disappointing defeat.
I don’t make the rules.

Well that's grim (If True)
Makes me wonder if Luton have made multiple bids based on them not entirely being told he's not for sale the first time.
The noise on twitter suggest it’s £10m. Looks like he’s gone 😩
If true, that's him gone. Grim.

Well that's depressing.

I hope we give Athletic Newham some cash (even if only nominal) if this goes through but I won't hold my breath with our hard-nosed owners.
Hopefully there’s a sell-on clause. Even 1% of the fees being mentioned would be a game changer at that level.

@Brownie I don't think it will have any effect on "getting the players up for it"
They will all be made up for Kone as they all see what a special he is.
Clare Tomlinson just referred to this as the '1887 derby' on Sky Sports News.
Nobody says that do they?
Not since 1887

I think it was just called The derby then.
Think of how many Danes we can buy with that cash.
And thinking about tonight…let’s get the win however it comes against bogey Barnsley.
But we didn't play them until 2002!
(We've had surprisingly few encounters with the Tykes. Not as few as Hull, but that's a low bar)
We could even fix the roof and get some soap in the toilets
