I would question why he signed a new contract in November if that was the case here. He signed to work for Wycombe Wanderers, not Matt Bloomfield. There are naturally circumstances when it would be appropriate to let him go (homesick, drastic change in company values etc) but none that I can see currently.
His value is highly unlikely to go down anytime soon so as I said before, no reason to sell for any price unless it’s really stupid money.
I don’t understand everyone suggesting Kone signed ‘a new deal’. It was worded clearly as a ‘contract extension’. That could be (and probably is) a totally different situation where the club has exercised their right to tick an optional box which extends his length with no impact on his pay.
Reading between some lines, and just downright speculating, the comments by Phil on Kone to Same Grace after the Mansfield game talked about how Kone was a development squad player - I wouldn't be wholly surprised if his "contract extension" was more a "upgrade to be considered a first-team player proper" after playing X number of games contract that also happened to be an extension (and likely increase in wage).
But that means that the club don't need to sell because of the contract is running out. If Kone expressed a desire to go, we could keep him for another 12 months, put him in the "B" team / on the bench for every game before then looking to cash in on him.
He captained us to the Champo for the only time in our history, left us in 2nd after managing us to perhaps the greatest half season of insane goalscoring in our history, and is literally at heightened risk of brain problems later in life because of injuries received in a Wycombe shirt.
It would take a lot for me to disrespect his Wycombe legend credentials. Bidding for Kone (who he brought to Wycombe in the first place) is hardly a crime against humanity, just good judgment for his current employers.
FWIW this might not be a crime to you, but to a lot of casual Wycombe fans and non-Wycombe fans, the optics of a club legend leaving at the first opportunity (no matter whether he was pushed or chose to leave blah blah blah) to then make a play at signing one of our best players and subsequently derail our season aren't great...
If this was to happen (and I don't think it will) I suspect it would seriously damage Bloomfield's reputation amongst a larger number of Wycombe fans than you'd think.
He's a Wycombe legend, but if he steals Kone off us wrecking our promotion campaigns, it'll sour a bit.
We forgave the running off to Col Utd - just our hated long term non league rivals - that's all, he's got a free pass on this leaving the 2nd time, he could have just kicked it out at Wembley...but this would turn the tide a little 🤑
Although someone on here was laughing at the idea we're funding all these new signings because Kone is getting sold - wouldn't be laughing if it was actually the case!
You are aware that in Wales' last international squad, only 4 of the 26 players selected, played for either Cardiff or Swansea? All the players selected where in the Championship or above and that's what Joe has been looking at. I think his international prospects will get noticed wherever he plays in the UK. Yes, being closer to home might be a draw but that hasn't stopped him from going to teams like Eastleigh, Walsall on loan and then signing for us to get games.
@Brownie@Malone surely That Bloomfield cannot 'steal Kone' from us, thus destroying both his legacy and our hopes of promotion, unless the management group sell him.
Casual Wycombe fans will barely care. Neutrals won’t give a toss.
Dan & Ed could’ve nipped this in the bud by offering Blooms a better deal and inserting a hands off clause if he did go. The fact they did neither is for them to ponder on.
Wait - so many people have been applying the strawman arguments of "well within their rights" and "these things happen in football" to Dan Rice's treatment of Bloomfield, but suddenly Bloomfield is not "well within his rights" to try and purchase a player he brought to Wycombe in the first place out of professionalism to his new employer?
I agree that Blooms' reputation will be damaged among a large section of fans, and already is. But I see that as people being a bunch of ingrates who see him as a cartoon character who belongs to them rather than a human being with a family and a career to think about.

I think that’s already been said to him
Blooms was kissing the badge on Thursday night and having an interview at Luton the next day,

Surprised he hasn't gone for Low to be honest. Scoring goals isn't Luton's problem, its stopping them from going in
There is no chance whatsoever Luton will go down with the level of players they have.
Because Dan Rice forced him out.
We will probably never know.

"Mr Wycombe"
When @Konetheming turns against a player or manager you know things are bad.

Luton not in Wales!
why don't you just be a Luton supporter as Blooms can do no wrong in your eyes!
yawn
Swansea isn't the only club that have been interested in Low. And why would Low move to the rivals of his boyhood club?
To improve his international prospects plus be nearer home.
I thought so too until I watched them against Oxford last night. They were dreadful.

That's exactly what I thought about Mr Kim's post...but obviously only one side of the dismal argument is supposed to shut up about it.

There's always a chance a team 2nd bottom 28 games into a season can go down. Make no mistake.
Exactly, Joe is a Cardiff boy.
Evening Danuard. How’s the search for the new coach going?

Playing the man rather than the ball is normally a sign you either have no argument, or don't have the ability to make one effectively.
