Clubs like Luton have that kind of money to spend, if they want to. Great to see the club rejecting these bids, but I am now worried that someone will stump up the cash in the next week...
I think the club should reject any bid below a crazy value. He's worth it.
I’d imagine we will be looking at around about £10 million for Kone given his age and level of interest. A few clubs in the Championship can afford that which I don’t think include Luton.
I genuinely wouldn't sell for anything less than this kind of fee imo. As @kipper says, he's bound to be on the radar of almost every club in the Championship. If they really want him, they should have to pay over the odds. His goals could be worth more to us than that if we go up though, so I'm hoping the ownership group stand firm and reject everything till Summer.
Tbf though wasn't that ground getting built before promotion? Therefore the PL and parachute money was just a welcome boost, not essential to the ground, and therefore still sat in a bank account somewhere?
He scored goals in the champ for them though and from a prem club, I reckon if over 5 mil plus add ons and sell on percentage that represents good value and allows us to go get proven, the signings we have made have no proven L1 pedigree Dion Charles...
What does £5 million do for us at this point of the season that the league's top scorer (ignoring a player no longer in the league) doesn't? Considering the finances that we have behind us now, I think rejecting bids of that size for Kone is a risk we should take.
Also have to look at the value of L1 transfer those fees don't really exist for players leaving L1, the jump is massive to the champ so I don't think clubs will be forking out 10 mil
What if the player wants to leave? You see it further up the pyramid that players will push through a move. We are starting to operate in that world now.
That obviously remains to be seen, but take one look at his celebrations at full time on Saturday. That doesn't look like a player about to force a move.
The bit that I find totally perplexing is that AAH2 is linked with Stoke, Baggies and other top half budgeted sides. Kone is linked with clubs toward the bottom. Kone has a much better track record and is certainly a much better player in my book.
If I was Dan Rice, my approach to this would be to tell Kone we won't be accepting any bids this January. Get your head down, win the golden boot, get us promoted, and then we can talk in the Summer. In the Summer not only could he already be a Championship player with us (and therefore in pole position to push for a much more improved contract) but he would also start to attract much bigger clubs - the likes of Leicester, Brentford, Crystal Palace, Leeds etc won't ignore a 21-22 year old with 25+ league goals.

Woodrow wouldn't be a popular signing here haha
Personally I'm over the time he 'shat' on our corner flag, but others are not...
Haha will be forgotten once he scores
I would take £4M plus Adebayo.
He brought Kone to Wycombe. Rich owes him more than he does Dan Rice!
We won't sell, though.

Aren't they flush with the money they got for flogging those parachutes?
I went to watch last night at oxford with some Oxford mates and my god he was useless, Danny hylton?
New ground to pay for
Oh, maybe not then 🤦

A reminder that Birmingham paid £15 million for a player of similar age and arguably ability in the summer.

Yes but new grounds always cost more. They won’t have the budget to blow over the odds on Kone.
His value today could be very different to his value in June. We don’t need to sell and we shouldn’t either.
100%. There's absolutely no benefit to us as a club if we sell in January, for any fee.

Bloomfield doesn't care about Wycombe anymore. Why would he?
Some fans should adopt the same perspective and move on rather than attacking ownership with no substance.
FWIW, I don't think we should entertain bids of less than £5m - double that for Luton.

But I don’t think there were many suitors for Stansfield. There is loads of interest in Kone.

Hull are the other club who have had an offer knocked back for Kone i’ve heard.
This is certainly turning into an interesting transfer window!

It's a business no room for sentiment
