Seems like shades of Anis from the sounds of things. Exciting player but needs to be moulded in the right way - which I hope the squad can and will do.
We seem to have a load of players now, eh?
You think the higher ups are pushing for promotion/setting the squad up for next season knowing the financial rules are changing for L1/L2 soon?
Looking at his twitter page, it seems as though he lost his Mum in 2023 when he would've been 19-20 years old. No surprise for something like that to (possibly) have an impact on the "attitude" of a young player.
Hopefully we'll be able to give him a welcoming home. There can be no better Scots to learn from than Grimmer and Harvie.
That would be my guess as well (including Hanlan). I also think Hartridge could also be moved on. Tough on Butch, but I’ll expect he’ll end up at Shrewsbury.
I do like this kind of signing. Clearly talented, but for whatever reason (personal in this case?) hasn’t done it. The right environment and we have a winner.
I do wonder how much the 'character test' limited us in terms of signings in the past. There's still a threshold, and I'd hope we wouldn't sign someone like a Mason Greenwood, for example, but I'm glad we're being less selective.
We couldn't afford to get signings wrong before, there wasn't the money to pay people off and bring in a second player if the first didn't work out, or to let them graze for a few months ago while they adjusted.
We should have access to many more players now so no need to stop vetting people for being arses. I don't think it was ever as simple as someone having done a bad thing so they are off the list but hard work and research that paid off.
When I look back to how I was when I was 18,19,20 and 21 and then if you were to sprinkle on top a mother that dies of cancer and living in the lime light of one of the top two football teams in your country, I would be more surprised if there aren’t rumours of your attitude being lacking at times. Shows you’re human.
To echo a theme in Brian Jeeves post, let’s try and be understanding of the lad if he’s made a few questionable decisions, we don’t know what he was going through at the time and I rather suspect it’s more than most of us will ever know.
This may well be the change the young man needs in his life to make a new start we would all love to be able to make at times in our lives.
And the one thing with someone like Jack Grimmer as your captain you can be sure of, we still do have some excellent characters in the squad. Even if we are adding heavily to it

Definitely backing the manager with all these signings. Oh hang on ....
Lol
Do we know what number Lowry has been given? (Asking for a friend).
Either 28 or 40 something!
Having watched him numerous times, he is a huge talent.
Big attitude problems at Rangers though, stories of ignoring the manager/coaches in training, making himself unpickable.
Intriguing signing from that perspective as it is totally against the culture instilled since Ainsworth was in charge.
Hopefully this is the fresh start he needs to concentrate his mind, because from an ability perspective it's all there for him.
Can only play home games due to a severe reaction to the green and white away kit.

Getting out of Glasgow may be the best thing for him.
The data model is over performing on xT (expected tattoos).
🤣🤣
I’ll tell my ‘friend’ 😭
I’m guessing a few going very shortly so waiting for their numbers to come up …..we must be losing a few surely …
If I was to guess I'd say Taff, Wheeler, Butcher and possibly Hanlan could all be on the move.

Not sure about Butch at Shrewsbury, he's not part of the GA band. He could certainly have his pick of mid table League One sides though.
I'd keep Butcher if he's happy, can never have too much MF depth
Considering his complete lack of minutes, I think that's a big "if"
Agreed. He’s a decent player so nothing to say the new manager won’t use him more. For me he’s better than Leahy and Bakinson.
Hartridge back to Exeter perhaps?
Probably, but I'd be more reluctant to offload him than the others

Hopefully. You can take the boy out of Glasgow but sometimes you can't take Glasgow out of the boy.
(Or Uddingston, to be pedantic)
Sounds like something Samual L Jackson would say.
Trying to paint a mental image of Lowry and all I can conjure is a matchstick man!
Hopefully a signing that will work out. Seems a big risk though and certainly not a signing we'd have made in previous years.
That said, welcome Alex, we're all behind you 100%
I want to keep Butcher, but sadly we’ve reached the end of the road for Wheels and Taf.

It got us promoted to the Championship
It limited us in a good way, and I will be disappointed if this "less selective" approach is going to be a regular thing.
I suppose senior pros like Bradley aren't allowed to pin a young player acting up against a wall anymore....
