I wonder whether part of the problem was that Matt was here as a player when Ainsworth was lord of all he surveyed, with complete control over transfers, off-field matters, choice of curtains / goal nets... Of course anyone taking over would want and hope for similar levels of control over all affairs. The major difference is that Ainsworth had to bring in his own curtains and goal nets, whereas Matt is operating in a structure where the ownership must have invested north of £5m this season (probably closer to £10m) on wages, transfers, building works, training grounds etc. It stands to reason they would demand more control than the Trust could or Couhig should. And it's a matter of human nature that Matt might resist that, wanting the leeway his predecessor had. If he's now found a club in Luton that will give him that, or at least meet him half way, then good for him. But I don't think Dan Rice et al deserve criticism for wanting more control of off-field aspects than previous regimes might have.
Careful. That's dangerously close to saying Matt threw his toys out of the pram when he didn't get what he wanted. Which might well be true BUT CAN NEVER BE SAID BECAUSE HE IS MR WYCOMBE.
I think I understand the point you are trying to make, and I guess you are trying to take a dig at me. Fine. But the point I am making that everyone is stating their positions in public and we can chose to take them at face value or believe the extraordinary amount of people ITK. The reality is that there are 2 people ITK. Neither of whom are regulars on the Gasroom I believe.
I'd imagine your niggle isn't that some people will have a link to someone at the club and get a version of the truth.
But more that a certain subset of the gasroom are so adamant in their certainty of what is going on and so dismissive of anyone who even tries to query it.
Win promotion this season and the ownership group will be heaped with praise, and fair enough too.
If we fall away from here though after such a tumultuous change, they will equally face the music.
I appreciate the circumstances are quite different, but the last time we had this sort of upheaval really didn't help our cause, and the fact this time it appears more engineered from within has people annoyed, understandably so I feel.
Definitely. Last time it was a long serving manager who had what could be a one time opportunity to grab his dream job and it was hard to deny him that opportunity.
This time, no-one can claim this is a dream club for Bloomfield, as much as it might well be a decent opportunity etc.
Football wise, at least we have a huge safety net to the 7th, whereas with Gareth I can't remember if we were just inside the playoffs or just outside. But either way it was tight.
I’m old enough to remember when you were denying there was a rift between the ownership and Bloomfield before you pivoted to it not mattering if there was a rift.
Hear me out, but what if they gave it to Sam Grace?
He's one of our own, we'd all have to get behind him, and they could even get something from Bloomfield indicating he takes the job with his blessing and wishes him all the best

Fwiw I don't doubt that things might have got toxic behind the scenes, but that's professional football sometimes - unfortunately.
Strong suspicion that the new boss will be Schumacher, just seen his car up Cressex Filling Station.
Brilliant.

They'll live or die based on how our performance goes from here.
Miss the playoffs and it'll look like an absolute disasterclass.
Storm to promotion and it'll look a lot rosier.
We have a great platform to at least make the playoffs, so that is a massive silver lining.

@aloysius this is all hard enough to comprehend without your vetoing paragraph breaks!
It's vital that we give secretive billionaires the benefit of the doubt we never gave that blustering yank.

Why are you so upset that some people know people inside the club? Its extraordinary.
So you are an ITK about who is an ITK?
Careful, or you'll have someone saying they are an ITK about whether you are an ITK about who is an ITK!
I think I need to upgrade my previous assertion of “blissful ignorance” to “wilful ignorance”.
IDK who's ITK and frankly IDGAD - tomorrow is another day - life goes on......
True, and YLO.
Cos most people are talking a load of sh1t to pedal their own opinions based on a pretend relationship with an imaginary friend. Plain and simple.

This is like every TV news interview on the middle east.
A lot of shouting.
No minds have been changed.
Shall we stop?
What is it that you don’t believe?
YES - Lets stop for J, M & J & the WD's sake
I'm old enough to remember when I was getting admonished for expressing opinions as if they were facts 🤔
Would anyone fancy Adam Hinshelwood..?
Ex Chairboys captain, going superbly at York, renowned for playing fast, attacking football.
Would cost a bit as York have wealthy backers but it doesn't seem like that's an issue!
Managed Pattenden at Worthing
To be fair, I see this as spot on.

Top two: A birdie (at least on the pitch).
Top six: Open goal.
Outside top six: Data Schmata.

Show me where I denied it. As far as I recall, I've just wanted people to back up their assertions with some sort of substance.
Hear me out, but what if they gave it to Sam Grace?

Just a thought
Personally quite happy with that, but it ain't going to happen.
