Just back to the days when someone valued leaves they are celebrated on the official website please. (Unless it’s the week for cleaning the office of course.)
It's a hard spin for the club to do the big tribute to Matt when he left against our wishes/desires/preferences at a time that is undoubtedly going to have a negative impact on our hopes of promotion. As others have pointed out it was only a couple of years ago we did the big tribute as he left for Col U. Do we do a highlights reel of the time since he became manager or re-run the whole career.
I don't think he has tarnished his legacy with us one jot and he remains one of THE legends of our club in the professional era. Maybe a more subtle tribute would be good but it is clear both parties didn't feel the parting was ideal.
If the ownership group are any good, they will be able to build on the great position MB left us in surely. Anything less than promotion from second would suggest the data led approach was flawed. 😉
(Quick get me the stats on the percentage of players who will have the bumhole about Bloomfield leaving now!!!)
I’m sorry. I’ve stated before I’m not blessed as being in the know. I simply read ‘The Club is naturally disappointed with Matt’s decision to leave in the middle of the season’
I don't think there is clear evidence either way, but the tone of the statements put out suggests Matt feels loved by the hierarchy at Luton (but maybe not anymore at Wycombe) is really fired up to be involved in recruitment at Luton (but has been moved more remote at Wycombe) has been offered a longer contract at Luton and on almost certainly a much bigger salary (meanwhile, it appears WWFC made no attempt to get him to sign a new contract, despite him having been interviewed for two other positions).
I don't see why it's so outrageous that a club might not want someone (as has been claimed by our resident ITKs) who perhaps doesn't align with their approach. At the end of the day, the previous ownership handed over to a billionaire - they're going to want to do things their own way. 'But it's Matt Bloomfield' doesn't really cut it.

He got celebrated when he left the first time - he's not going to get that again, especially if it was an acrimonious exit.
It’s Matt Bloomfield

Evidence?

@eric_plant do the research!!!
I'd be a lot more convinced by 'The Club are disappointed Matt turned down the massive contract extension we offered as an inducement to stay'.
If Dan Rice told you he had won the lottery but needed you to pay a facilitation fee in order to access the funds…

I know what my view if the situation is.
And even that statement at face value implies they wouldn’t have been bothered if he had left during the summer.

The official website is very quiet.
It's almost like nothing much is going on.
Glad the Gasroom is buzzing.
