The manager post Matty Bloomfield?
I hope that he stays, but listening to the mood music Luton Town may get their man.
Who would ‘Data Dan’ look for next? (That’s if MB really does go).
I would try for Rob Edwards as he reminds me of the passion MB has shown over the years with the crowd.

I actually wouldn't mind the foreign manager route, if we have to part with Blooms. It would feel so different that it would almost be easier to deal with.
My vote is for random Danish data guy (maybe the Brentford chap if it's not just rumours).
We need someone who can implement a progressive system quickly. Rob Elliot has proved he can. But I'm minded to agree it'll be a hipster overseas pick.
Whatever way we go it feels like a fork in the road for Wycombe as a football club. A relatively unknown would be a different experience after having Gaz and MB in charge for so many years and both ingrained into our history and DNA.
We won't be short of interest, that's for sure. I'd like Steven Schumacher, but also expect it will be someone we've never heard of. Exciting / nervous times indeed. I just hope this doesn't derail our window - reinforcements are still needed in a number of areas, while keeping hold of Low would be an even bigger bonus (though with today's news, I'd expect he's even more likely to want out).
Bit of hard one really.
I would not be surprised if we go completely left of field and go abroad or a young English/foreign first teach coach/reserve manager from a Premiership team. We are undoubtedly an attractive proposition for a new and up and coming manager. Money, training ground, a project (in regards to the academy) and a settled squad with no bad eggs. I would not object to Claus Nørgaard from Brentford in regards to that, at least he does have a history of coaching and management beforehand.
Me personally, I would love a bit of ambition and get Steven Schumacher. Got Plymouth out of League One successfully and was harshly (in my view) sacked at Stoke.
Get Alexander Blessin from St Pauli and this place will be purring
I was thinking of doing a thread on Best Goal/Performance/Signing of the Blooms era, then realized that Stockport and Kone are basically the only possible answers for the last two.
I think we will need to get used to a regular change of Head Coaches à la Watford under the current regime.
Is it beyond the realms of possibility that Dan Rice steps in as acting head coach to go alongside his role as acting chairman? He has a background in coaching at a higher level and could show us how successful a data-led approach could be. I presume he has a natural authority that the players would respect, given he also pays their salaries. And if Niall Quinn could do both roles at Sunderland, why shouldn't our former Newcastle man be able to do it too?
Niall Quinn was, in his own words, crap when he did both roles. There's a reason he lasted 6 games, won only once, and then hired Roy Keane!
What a thoroughly depressing thought to start the day with.
I would be really alarmed if this was even considered, but think there is 0% chance it happens too.
He was signed to be Chief Football Officer, and is also acting as a director AND interim Chairman. There is only so much one person can do. He also doesn't seem to have experience as a manager at any serious level, he has worked in academy / recruitment capacity at every club he's worked for.
I want the club should go all out for Rob Edwards and his team. The assistants and 2 analysts have also just left them. With what the future holds there are similarities between us and Luton and despite him looking absolutely shattered at the end of his tenure at Luton this could be exactly what he needs with the support of his trusted team around him. There is also the benefit that he and his background staff are all available and must be relatively local to us too.
To be honest, we are entering the Manager's transfer market at the right time. In my opinion, there are several managers out there that could do an amazing job if the club want to give them a package that makes it worth their while. Managers like Rob Edwards, Gary O'Neil or Rob Page all fit the similar hole that Matt Bloomfield will be leaving. I might be looking outside of our catchment area and we might get a manager who is currently employed but I'm sad but also excited to see what's next for this amazing football club!
Computer says no.
jack whilshere
Would be an interesting one. Was well thought of as a coach at Arsenal but only recently moved to Norwich.
chance of the top job, im sure he will have clauses in contracts about that if he had those ambitions
I will cry if we appoint a manager who's only a few years older than me
I just want somebody who can keep us in contention. Be amusing on here if nothing else if we get a progressive young coach who starts off with three at the back.
Speculation or ITK? Would be a solid fit from the owners, given his youth background working with young players.
How quickly we have a new manager in place will certainly confirm or undermine some of the claims made about our owners.
If we're going down the data route, does Will Still, the Football Manager manager, qualify?
I think Will Still is great, but he's not long moved from Reims to Lens - and will probably go onto even bigger things yet!
so far ahead of us
He would be great to consider but moving from the top division in France to the 3rd division in England would be a massive step down
I don't like this thread.
Kipper knows!
ive heard whispers that wilshere, Schumacher and cole have been sounded out
Cole? Ashley or Joe? Or a different one?
