Matt's a savvy guy. If a better opportunity comes along and he doesn't feel wanted here, he's going to take it. His love for Wycombe won't outweigh his managerial ambitions.
Many of you stood at Leyton Orient last season and many fans were happy for him to get sacked, although maybe not those on here.
It is not a job for life here. Whether it is Luton or another club (there will be many vacant posts in this game), then he should do what is best for him.
I am not sure why people are assuming he isn't getting on with the ownership group or not feeling the love. Is there any actual evidence of this? We have just spent over a million pounds on 2 players (if this 2nd signing goes through). No Manager in the existence of Wycombe Wanderers have had that luxury. Matt is a man of data, last season during that terrible run Matt was very vocal about xg ect. Many thought he was mad as the performances were below par from the naked eye but Matt insisted he was happy with what data was telling him. If anything i believe Matt would be loving this ownership group and the way they see the future for Wycombe Wanderers. If he was to go, in my opinion it would be nothing to do with the ownership group. Just a young man who as been given the chance to manage in the league above, a club that was in the prem last season. Bigger salary, bigger fan base, new stadium on the horizon, easier journey from home. That would be his reasoning, nothing else.
@Major I agree. I'd also add that his stock is very high at the moment. Things change quickly in football and the offers will dry up if we tumble down the table. If he's not certain he can take us up (and how can he be), this may be the best opportunity he'll see for a while.

The important question (and one we’ll presumably never know the answer to) is what if an opportunity came along, but he did feel wanted here?

This is exactly why I would want to lay this 1/10 bet if I could. I don’t think he’s going anywhere personally.
Chance of promotion at his club (if only to upset our evil overlords) and an ongoing cup run. I think Matt will stay to the end of the season.
If not good luck to him but it's nicer here than Tommy Robinson's Luton.

Would make a decent poll, which of the below will be at Wycombe for the next game
Low
New Danish fella 2
Bloomfield
Charlton fella
Morley
Anyone else new

Who is going to take over the helm then (unless Bloomfield wasn’t at training because he was sick rather than attending interviews)?
That'll be that then. A season ending catastrophe I'd say. What a month, and it's only 13th Jan.
I wouldn't say that until we see who the new man is. Intrigued to find out.
I have no idea why you keep saying this
I suppose he can go down the big wage, big pay off route.
Dan Rice interim manager?
Depends how many of our players he takes with him? Perhaps Luton would put in a bid for Low?
We enter the Dai Lommy phase.......
They thought Fred had 'found his level' coming back to us.
Ha yeah, hadn't thought about that 🙃
And I imagine he'll be very aware of Mr Kone's release clause if there is one...
If he does go to Luton, I can’t see him taking any of our players in this window.
Oh ffs..... this is going to end badly isn't it?
I hope it dosn't derail our excellent season so far....
Famous last words.
... Entire first team heads with him
If the Gasroom is to believed surely Dan will see it as the removal of the main obstacle to unencumbered Data dominance?
Time for Martin O'Neill to come back to the fore for one last dance.
If these Luton rumours are true then I hope the club have done everything they can to keep hold of Matt, at least until the end of this season.
GA will be spitting feathers...all the interviews he went to (allegedly) and failed after years of relative success.
Well I personally would see it as the last stone we have keeping our philosophy and traditions alive.
I'm not opposed to new thinking and new ways of doing things... but it will be a sad day imo
What philosophy and traditions are being 'killed' by taking a data-led approach exactly?
