I’ll echo what I wrote to the lad on Facebook, he complimented the chanting and it came across on the telly too. He helped to create a great atmosphere and he didn’t aimlessly drum over chants.
Fantastic to get through, hopefully a big payday or a winnable tie in the next round, I love a trip to the emirates or Old Trafford. Great to see butcher back in the team, I think he could have a big role to play still this season. Bradley looks great, a massive presence in the back line. If we continue to have RB problems I’d happily see Kodua continue just for the attacking threat, I’m sure he will improve the defensive side like Fred did in the championship season.
Very good performance last night. I thought Leahy was excellent and really drove the team forwards and he finally put in a very good delivery for the second goal from a free kick. His pressing was very good and he just seemed to really want it last night.
Bradley was superb and so pleased we've signed him and I think Skura can really learn a lot from him. If Joe Low is off then I think Declan can step up. He'll make some mistakes but anyone learning their trade will.
The whole team looked so much more comfortable with a back four. Gideon did ok at right back from a defensive viewpoint but he's not so comfortable heading the ball, which could prove a problem in the lonig run. However, what he does give us is an amazing turn of pace and a real double threat down the right hand side when going forwards.
I really like Butcher and he was very good last night, if Morley doesn't return, I think we have enough in midfield if we play like last night.
Looking forward to the draw on Sunday, I'd be happy with Goodison, we'd have to hire a pub out just for the gasroom meet up!
last night showed where we are at, think we look a very good team when teams come at us. We are in a transition learning phase of the season where teams are happy to take a point from us and we need to figure that out, need someone to step up as the man to pass through the lines to our pocket players, then teams will get disorganized. I dont see leahy or bakinson as that man i think butch could be the man to step up thought he was v good last night.
Portsmouth played like most of the teams against us in the first half of the season - with complacency, under estimating us, thinking they could pass it through us and eventually Little Wycombe would fold. As with most teams in the first half of the season, they soon discovered it wouldn't be that easy.
But I don't think we should get too much false hope from last night. Teams in the league have figured out how to counter us - by harrying, closing down and winning the midfield battle, preventing us from moving it through the thirds.
In order to get back to promotion form we still need to work out how to counter that. I think there was a big clue last night though, in the form of Matt Butcher. Yes, playing him alongside Scowen and Humphreys sacrifices that quarterback passing we've all been purring about. But it gives us a lot more bite and safety-first forward movement. We've started losing possession too easily with Leahy and Bakinson in the midfield. Butcher may once again be the player that turns round our disappointing form, just like he did this time last year.
I liked Moushino as a player for us...not so much when he was an opponent but that's the game innit? (not unlike O'Nien) Agree that game will not suddenly ignite our league form but momentum and confidence is a good thing. I assume @Konetheming was round at trevor's last night.🙂
For me, the game showed we have a decent squad. Those players could step into gaps and do a job if called upon...which is what you want. If Gideon is happy to cover the right back position for a while to keep getting minutes, that isn't a bad thing either!
Bishop looked solid. Made one routine save of a shot I think was going wide. Kicking a bit hit and miss (as most keepers at our level is). Not sure it was a performance that deserves being rewarded. Rav has largely been excellent this season, has been a key part of our success and deserves to hold on to his spot. I'm certain Rav knows there's real competition and doesn't need to be dropped to make him aware of this. Happy to to let Blooms decides who our number one is.
I really felt for Shamal George last night. Gets a big opportunity and a top class save before getting his injury. He looked absolutely gutted to come off.
Wheeler also a small reminder, if needed, of what he has to offer. Great commitment and pressing from him👏
Like Gideon Kodua ? Didn’t he do exactly that last night ?
Talking of signings, I was delighted to hear that Oliver was such a hit with his drumming, driving the chanting on instead of driving people away. The terrace has been really rocking lately, a mass of excited younger faces. At last the message is getting through that watching Wycombe can be a really exciting experience.
It was working in the lead up to the match but undersoil heating can't be used while a game is being played. Thats why the pitch was getting whiter & whiter as the game went on. Also you could see the players getting more & more nervous when they were trying to change direction
I believe the undersoil heating has been on more or less continuously for about a week.
Having the same facility at the training ground must be a huge factor currently, enabling our players to train on a first class, stadium quality pitch regardless of freezing conditions. Must give us a bit of an edge in League One.
Really? I can remember many occasions when the boiler has been roaring away underneath the away stand as I passed on my way to the Frank Adams stand. And I’m reasonably sure that it’s still been going afterwards. The frost on the grass cannot be prevented by the undersoil heating. Or at least that’s my understanding.

Assumed it would be taken…

He was instrumental in getting Bayo sent off in the game at the Kassam back in 2019, wasn't he?
then on top of this i think need to recruit a havoc maker, someone very tricky who can beat 2 or 3 men

Shame there isn't a time option.
Lx anything between 9pm and 6am will invariably be absolute madness.
Mousinho was dirty beyond belief against us. Not in the O Nien naughty schoolboy way, but I'm sure he was putting in reply brutal challenges.
Pretty sure his family live locally though and he speaks well of the club in general and enjoyed his time here though.
Was the undersoil heating used yesterday or doesn't it function any more? It used to be a constant source of discussion.
Ps any of the gasroom analysts, how close to their first team was that last night?
My assumption is "not very but maybe someone else knows?

9 changes but still a team full of players we would love to have.

@Malone didn't Moushino go to a Westley Stevenage from us...if you were going to learn how to s***house surely that was the perfect university.
Yeah I’m sure I saw the club tweet this week that it was in action so there were no worries about the game
He’s an Old Challonian. We learn shithousery from the day we arrive there.
@LX1 It's the 4th time we've got this far. On the last 2 times we've lost to Spurs - the last time one in 2021 (during Covid) at home, 4-1.
Ah yeah sorry. For some reason I always thought the first one was 3rd round.
Here's to the 4th time WWFC have reached the 4th round. And the first time final.
And to the Firth of Forth
Baggy traasers

What year did you leave? Have a vague memory from a previous discussion we were in the same year there. I left in 84.

Sounds like you've hear a rumor.....?

My mind went blank.
Really?! Which players did you have in mind?

Perhaps @AlanCecil could clarify.
