I just hope all is well behind the scenes and what we've seen the last couple of weeks isn't down to any kind of off-field instability (realistically, I don't think it is). It does feel like we're more in the dark than ever.

  • That game was decided by an individual error. Huddersfield Town had one shot on target. If Aaron Morley plays, we win it.

  • Not much in the game. In my view an error from Franco and another set piece goal.

Unlucky with Bakinson’s effort and Scowen should have done better with a free header, but can’t help but feel the break between league games coming up is a bit of a blessing as we seem to have lost some of our mojo in the last few weeks.

Bradley looked relatively solid at the back although Huddersfield didn’t offer much after their goal.

Thought the refs were poor and we were naive to it. There were so many niggly fouls which repeatedly killed our momentum.

  • Bizarre fixture to try a new formation.

  • Joe Low openly weeping? Asking for a friend.

  • He stood and saluted the terrace for a solid minute

  • Can’t wait for February to arrive, never liked January

Gosh that was a poor first half, all too deep & players clearly unsure of their roles defensively - the 3 CB with WBs just does not work for us even when Pattenden is fit.

Fred is NOT a WB - not sure he is a winger either as he doesnt take his man on & beat him on the outside, he either cuts inside or passes back...

Second half a little better in parts, but with ineffective wide men we are not stretching the opposition so it all becomes very crowded at the top of the box making it very very hard to do anything. Humphreys & Scowen in particular tried to spread the play & be creative but our passing recently has been pants.

Fair play to Huddersfield, we let them control the game & dictate the pattern of play & they took that opportunity, having said that despite the result, whilst very solid defensively, other than their goal they never really threatened going forward (I know they didn't have too once they were 1 up).

  • Pretty poor tonight. Couldn’t quite understand the line up even with injuries and suspension. Need a goal and you take Kone off , seems odd. Still in a great position but need to find the form of a few games ago.

  • So many things wrong with that. Good players looking bad in a formation that didn’t work for us.

Second half better but we have lost that spark, that click, that bit of sparkle we had before Christmas. Fred is not himself. Leahey cannot play the role he’s being asked to play. Bakinson is not Morley.

What is frustrating is that Huddersfield were garbage. And once that goal went in they were delighted to spoil and we fell into it over and over again

Bright point was Sunny Bradley. That’s about it.

Shame as I think this is a turning point. Win tonight and pressure falls on Wrexham. We will look back on this season with frustration I fear.

Hard to believe we are the league's top scorers watching that. Bloomfield's teams have been a joy to watch when it clicks. When it doesn't I'm afraid it's painfully dull viewing and not defensively sound enough to get results either.

    Chance creation has evaporated recently.

  • Concerning performance. So much hoofball tonight when fast attacking play on the floor is what has got us to where we are in the league. Agree with @flymofrank in that you want your biggest goal threat on at the end when we desperately need a goal! We could do with Sadlier and Vokes back asap to give us different options. Final ball was lacking tonight.

Some over reactions on here tonight. They had one chance gifted by a combination of poor keeper punch and Fred day dreaming in the middle of the box. We then created a handful of good chances which have been going in season to date against a very well drilled defensive team. Our mistake was going behind. Yes the back 3 didn’t really work too many long balls that none of the midfield capable or prepared to do the Morley drop deep, accept the ball under pressure and release the outside defender possibly because as wing backs they were already too far forward. No need to be too disillusioned still second with a good part of the season left but as we have always known there are some strong sides in this division. COYB

  • Remember when someone repeatedly kept posting taking the piss out of other gasroomers who suggested Fred could get picked at wingback. Haven’t seen that mentioned this evening.

  • Presuming Grimmer has got injured. It may hasten the arrival of the Palace lad

  • If we persist with Franco, I don't see us going up

  • That was Malone wasn't it? Didn't seem to understand what "option" meant

Stopped him talking about parking, access roads and the length of Jack Young's contract for a few minutes though to be fair (and reminding everyone that he's muted me)

We were overdue a frustrating match like that, we looked tired and looked unable to find the key to unlock a resolute defence. On a night that both teams created precious little in terms of incisive attacking play, a game decided by a goal coming from a mistake was always likely. The Scowen header scraping the bar and Bakinson properly clonking it showed that our luck most definitely wasn't in tonight.

It was one of those evenings you have to take on the chin and get on with the next match.

  • It definitely felt like we missed Grimmer's leadership tonight

13 points from an available 27 since the start of December. Reinforcements are needed before our next league game. All the ball and no incisiveness, when we were cutting teams open for fun 2 months ago.

We've been reeled in by Huddersfield (who would've been more than happy with a point today based on their second half antics) and will soon be reeled in by others if we don't buck our ideas up sooner or later. We haven't beaten a top 6 side yet this season. We won't get promoted if we can't do that.

  • Feels like we've had a few frustrating matches lately

  • Fred shouldn't be getting picked anywhere at the moment, so frustrating

  • Who was captain tonight? Felt like a distinct lack of leadership on the pitch.

  • Fair play to Huddersfield, they came with a defensive game plan and they did the job.

A very frustrating game. The team looked short of ideas and tired. Personally, I hope we play as weakened team on Friday as we’re allowed to to let the lads rest and take stock.

We’re certainly lacking a Morley-esque player to unlock the attack and open up Cam.

Another key element of us missing a Morley-esque player is this constant passing back to Franco. I lost count the amount of times we went back to Franco, even when not being especially pressed. And whilst Franco did nothing wrong, he was (and has been) very pedestrian with distribution, always allowing the opposition to reset.

I thought Bakinson looked good going forward, but defensively, some schoolboy mistakes.

Harvie had his worst game of the season, he definitely looked leggy.

Little Kone could do today, thought he did alright with the very little he got, often going wide to receive and make something happen.

Good chance for Scowen, another day, that would have gone in. Same for Bakinson.

We lost the first 2 games of the first half of the season and look where we ended up. We dust ourselves down, and can’t believe I’m saying this, looking forward to an away game next in the league.

And I fully trust in Matt to turn the lads around, he must be as frustrated as many of us are. Let’s hope there’s some good news coming in the window.

Not sure Low looks entirely happy, and I thought that against Blackpool, but that might just be my paranoia.

Good debut by Sonny, although I feared a red initially.

  • Another stupid head scratching rule. Why can’t a 4th official book a manager or someone on the bench? Why the stupid charade?

  •  All the ball and no incisiveness,

Or All fur coat and no knickers as people in Glasgow say of Edinburgh

  • Town fan in piece. Horrible game to watch, we offered next to nothing all game, but didn’t really need to.

We had 9 starters out today, so not surprised in the performance we put in. We are rock solid at the back but horrific going forwards. Hopefully the news of Joe Taylor signing comes true because we currently have absolutely nothing up top.

Great to see you guys doing so well this season, hopefully you can keep it up (so long as it’s not at the expense of us!)

Good luck for the rest of the season.
