I understand Matt having his hand forced somewhat by the RB injuries, but there's a reason we rarely play a back 3. Get Skura on for Leahy and revert to a 4.
I know we've lost key players and have had to switch things up, but there's really no excuse for this passivity in attack.
We're at home in a key game against a rival. We've got the best attacking record in the division, yet seem unable to have any idea in getting it into the box with actual attackers there
Looks like a dangerous mix tonight: we look very blunt as an attacking force and Huddersfield look very solid at the back. We're going to have to be a lot more inventive to unlock them.
On the positive side - Sonny Bradley has been excellent.
Always hate wing back formations and hoped we'd permanently binned this. Trying it against a tough team seems a mad idea when you could play Fred or Skura right back as a one off.
We’re playing like it’s hot potato. Nobody seems keen to get the ball down, we’ve had little joy lumping it forward and we can’t even manage basic passes. Big team talk at the break, we need the leaders to be heard in the changing room.
There's nothing in this game. We've had the better of the play but not done enough with the ball.
Huddersfield Town have one of the best defensive records in the division (conceding 19 in 23 1/2 games) and they're happy to sit in and invite us on. They'll look to play on the counter attack in the second half.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with the formation. We just need to find the guile to penetrate them. Aaron Morley would be quite handy here.
Bakinson is great at the defensive side (tackles, clearances, mopping up) but offers absolutely nothing with the ball at his feet. Desperately missing Morley
Yes, we need to move the ball quicker too. It always seems like there are five Huddersfield players around the ball in their half (I know that's not literally the case), so everything feels like a cul-de-sac.

Same, and I have a horrible feeling it's going to be one of ours from the ref being conned (like their GK feigning a stamp from Udoh)
Now I'm confused. Is it not a back 5?
Need Vokes up front here with these tactics.
It's definitely a back 5 - Onyedinma at RWB, Harvie at LWB.
Yes, we usually play a back four.
No idea how one scores against this lot, they are so organised
Kone is due a goal.
Udoh is due a goal.
Fred is due a goal.
So, a Bakinson equalizer incoming.
Yes but you said our LB is at RB?
1. He's not
2. Are they not WB's in a back 5?
2.5 games without scoring from open play hmm
It's a back 3, so WBs. A back 5 doesn't have WBs.
Okay, RWB sorry! I forgot about the Gasroom Pedant Tax.
We've gone a bit "long ball" havnt we !?
Not much silky stuff on show, unless the ball goes to Humphreys
Come back Kieran! We need a wide player who can beat a man!
It's funny how the forward group is the only one untouched by the window so far, but it is bang out of form.

Matt must be reminding the owner of last January in some kind of contract negotiation or something.

Onyedinma right back in a 4 and let’s go for it please
I'll be honest...it was more that you LB was shoehorned into RB.

The short version - I'm an idiot.
please can tell me what leahy offers at all ? the most overrated wyconbe player of recent times ...Bakinson alos been atrocious
Good assessment. It speaks well of MB that the 'No Plan B' klaxon has not sounded for over a year, so I am hopeful he will figure something out!

We'll surely bin this formation ASAP 2nd half.

Flashbacks to last season with five at the back. The players take it literally five across the back, no width, no midfield.
Huddersfield very comfortable knowing we are going to pass around the back and lump it 40 yards to outnumbered strikers.
And someone needs to make Fred angry if that is what it takes him to be the player we know he can be. He’s as docile as a kitten

We seem to have a bit more energy about us this evening than recent matches, but the changes have left us disjointed.
Huddersfield look similarly disjointed, but have just had something extra about them in the final third.
Fred has done very little to justify retaining a starting spot the last few games. I'd like to see us bring in more wide competition.
