I suppose we wouldn't have signed George if not for Bishop's injury, so I guess we might go with two 'proper' GKs and a kid, but it would be ideal to have three - not that uncommon at this level nowadays.
Bearing in mind Shala is regularly playing at the 7th level, I don't think he would be inferior to Yates should we need to recall him in the unlikely event of an emergency.
Ex Man City, youth world cup winner - I really thought he was going to be a big time success story. Now a financial advisor working with his former teammates:
Vokes won't go anywhere. Why would one of our highest earners leave now after signing a new deal in the summer? He's got half a season left to put himself in the shop window and earn a decent move/new contract. We can't afford to terminate his contract on the wages he is on and it would go against every moral fibre of our club giving players a chance. Same applies to Hanlan.
Vokes has our highest minutes:goals ratio this season too!!
I agree that there's no chance he leaves in Jan. But i'd not be surprised if he calls it a day and retires at the end of the season.
35 isn't "that" old, but it's a respectable age to retire. especially as he'd long made his money, and moved here for enjoyment after a few awkward years (obviously for a good wage by our standards at the time - no doubt reducing last time he re-signed).
He still has something to contribute this 2nd half of the season, but maybe a glorious promotion would be an ideal way to end 4 seasons here. Which is a good shift.
Without any shadow of a doubt we've not come to close to seeing his best.
Load of injuries, and a tiny handful of games in less than ideal situations - early season without the now colossus defensive unit we have against the best teams in the league, or that all change lineup in the Checkawindows cup.
That would be a strange one. He's looked good when he's played for us, but a League One non-regular being bought by a recent Premier League side? Seems a bit panicky by Luton to me.
Looks good on the ball when facing up the pitch, but scares me every time he gets it facing our goal. Has lost possession through taking too long on it or from a blind flick around the corner on a number of occassions. Can't see him stepping up to the Championship without that part of his game nailed, it is pretty vital for a DM to be comfortable receiving the ball from defenders.
He has made 55 appearances in the Championship and 81 in League One in has career. He's done well when he's come on for us and it doesn't surprise me that a lower Championship Club might be interested in him.
I suspect if Morley returns to Bolton that he will play a lot of games for us in 2nd half of the season.
I made the mistake of reading that 2nd paragraph first and out of context..wondering why you were sure a player retuning to Bolton would play a lot for us!
I think we have become a very attractive destination for loanees - fighting for promotion, an up and coming attack-minded manager, a great culture, and a place where loanees tend to get minutes too.
If we lose Morley, Taylor, Vokes, Wheeler, whoever, I still think we are going to get some quality in to replace them.

Henry Whocombe
(well done remembering his name though!)
I'm not 100% sure that's right
And Curtis Anderson

Keepers DO NOT count towards the EFL L1 squad limit of 22 players - so there is no reason to let Bishop go if he wants to stay
Presumably we're not getting him for free, so that's a reason.

Not hard when he's only played 23 minutes 😉
This was my thinking too. I wouldn’t be too upset if we signed him permanently in the summer. George is the one who makes me most nervous.

Vokes didn’t sign a new deal last summer, the deal he had from previous summer was for two seasons.
https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-luton-town-eye-move-for-wycombe-wanderers-star-tyreeq-bakinson/ - wonder if he'd want to leave for more game time at a higher level?....
I hope not

If they want to do it, for an absolutely colossal fee, who are we to stand in the way of ambition.

Then realised it was about Bakinson!
It seems many would be surprised if Vokes left and if Wheeler left for Shrewsbury.
Not done deals by any stretch, but you may want to prepare yourselves for a couple of surprises.
Inside info or guesswork?
As long as we keep moving forward with improving the squad, I don’t mind if they do go.
One of my old workmates mentioned that he had heard that Bloomfield was after Arthur Read from Col U. Not sure if that is right or just a rumour.
He’s been after him for at least a year.
Inside guesswork

Totally agree.
