Looks like it’s a beautiful day weatherwise in Shrewsbury. Same as here and it certainly makes people more inclined to get out and about. Also, the locals will be intrigued no doubt to see a contest between sides managed by two old colleagues with very different philosophies when it comes to style of play. That has certainly piqued our own interest.

For those reasons I think many of us may have underestimated today’s attendance.

  • I’m not so sure. A team soon no one will want to watch every week against a team that used to be that no one wanted to watch every week…

  • 5700 with 460 Chairboys

  • Shrewsbury have two home games in the next two weeks over the Christmas break, nobody will be paid until next week or the week after.

Shrews fans won't be bothered about Wycombe and will be on a downer after being thrashed by a very poor Cambridge team last Saturday

I can't see anything but a low crowd but then what do I know.

  • Given as 5737 💥

  • Top Twenty for the Total Crowd Away to Shrewsbury: [Actual 5737]

One of the best prediction performances of the season so far as well as arguably one of the best performances on the pitch so far.

Many congratualtions to @NewburyWanderer, closest, missing by just eighteen, and the title of Forecaster of the Week is yours.

Congratulations to @PJS who was very close to the best prediction - missing by just twenty.

Congratulations to @wwfcblue; @MFH_Blue; @silverfox; @MindlessDrugHoover and @bookertease; @Onlooker and @mwite, and @DJWYC14 who were all within one hundred of the correct attendance.

The majority of those in this table will have scores which register in the 'Tour de Season' competition, as will a number of those outside the table.

To beat our average wisdom for this game you needed to be within 138 - our average prediction from 36 forecasts was 5875.

Top Twenty for the Away Support at Shrewsbury: [Actual 534]

Many congratulations to @micra , closest and missing by just a single person, top judgement there.

Lots of forecasters were close, on what I thought was not a particuarly easy game to judge the away support. Congratulations to @mwite; @Twizz, @Commoner, @Shev and @DJWYC14; @MFH_Blue; @robin; @ryan_w_kirkby2; @thecatwwfc and @DevC who were all within 26.7 [5%].

Collectively we had an average prediction of 518 - an underestimate of the impressive actual number by just 16. Interestingly our collective average was however boosted by around six by the 745 away crowd prediction of Chat gpt alone.

Perhaps Chat gpt can see into the future and is already factoring that into the numbers. 😁.

Top Twenty for the Home Support at Shrewsbury: [Calculated 5203]

Many congratulations to @MindlessDrugHoover and @bookertease joint closest on this measure.

    Congratulations to @wwfcblue; @NewburyWanderer; @mwite; @MFH_Blue; @PJS; @DJWYC14; @silverfox; @Manboobs; @BSE and @Onlooker who were all within one hundred.

Collectively, over the 36 predictions we were at 5357 an overestimate of 154.

Good luck to everyone with the Bolton game attendance prediction, myself and @railwaybeth are setting off mid afternoon for the rare treat of an evening match at Adams Park. Especially good luck to anyone who has read this far, having waited a long time for this post to appear.

  • Thanks @railwaysteve.

I’d just like to say that there is no truth in the rumour that I freeze-framed a shot of the Wycombe contingent and went 1,2,3,4 ……..

  • @railwaysteve , sorry to be a pain but I think my prediction of 5,599 is 138 out ie 12th best.

It would also mean this score changes my 10 best overall (currently 400 to beat), which may change the overall season table?

  • Not a pain, I made a transcription mistake. 12th best in the Shrewsbury match is your proper place. It does make a change of one place for you in the Overall Leaderboard - your score should be 188.56. and I have made the change on the current master copy. I won't post an alteration today if that is ok.

  • 👍Safe journey 🎄 &COYB’s tonighy.
