Club Staff
Over the last few weeks, I've realised that, unlike the old days, when we didn't have many support staff, I didn't really know who some of Matt Bloomfield's wider team were. When he said something on Saturday along the lines of (I thought) "Serney is going to have to listen to me worrying about that all the way back to Ipswich", I thought (a) I had no idea who Serney was and (b) that a thread listing club staff and Board members might be a useful resource for gasroomers. But then I found this extremely helpful and comprehensive list of club staff on the Wanderers website and realised that those efforts were completely unnecessary.
Serney turned out to be "Lead First-Team Football Analyst: Ben Cirne" and everybody else in the organisation you could wish to know about is listed there, alongside him.
So well done club media folks on the transparency of this - great stuff. And @bluntphil, it might be nice to use some of your regular productions (once we've finished with the players' questionable musical tastes!) to get to know a bit about these people, their responsibilities and their careers to date.

Thanks for this helpful post. I don’t mean to detract from it in any way by mentioning that it is generally considered bad practice from an accessibility perspective to do hyperlinks to a single word, particularly a short single word like “this”.
I found it really helpful out of interest why is it considered bad practice?
I’ve always understood it to be tricky for people with sight problems and those that use screen readers. Greater tech minds than me will probably have a better explanation.
Exactly as @arnos_grove says. Have a look a look at the WCAG2.2 guidelines if you’re interested https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG22/
A more specific link
I'd just like to know how you manage to get your links to act as hyperlinks (go blue as @micra would say)?
Seems to be random for me as to whether a link posted on the gasroom works or not.
I just paste them as text and they hyperlink themselves when I post the message.
Edit - I use Safari on iPhone.
I’m not sure you can do it from a phone - well, not from an iPhone using a Safari browser. Easy enough from a laptop or PC.
Select the text you want to link from and click the link button on the right. My phone does however unhelpfully try to offer the menu for Cut, Paste and other stuff over the top at the same time.
thank you. Noted.
A criticism about a post because it didn't meet accessibility guidelines on hyperlinks. Blimey!
To be commended. If it makes even one person think next time they unintentionally post something less accessible to others than it would, be the world is a slightly improved place.
Actually, i never realised this. For years I have been hyperlinking like that in emails: "... and you can find the report here"... etc. I used to think it was a great way to do it, but, as @our_frank says, point noted.
Good 'public service' stuff from @OakwoodExile who presented his point respectfully. And has received 9 thumbs-downs for his trouble 😕
Poor @OakwoodExile getting nine thumbs down even after starting the post with ‘Thanks for this helpful post. I don’t mean to detract from it in any way by mentioning…’
Bit harsh.
The main reason not to do it is because a lot of screen readers can read out just the links on the page to you, so if you create a link it’s best for that link to describe what the content is at the other end. In this case “this extremely helpful and comprehensive list of club staff” as a link would be a perfect description.
I’ll admit I don’t often pay that level of attention with my own links in posts though, this was a useful reminder.
Wycombe Wanderers are thrilled to welcome Nathan Marshall as the academy’s new Head of Recruitment.
Nathan brings with him a wealth of experience in academy football with Crystal Palace, Watford and most recently Brighton & Hove Albion, where he oversaw academy recruitment operations from under-15s to under-21s.
Academy Director Jeremy Sauer commented: “Nathan is an extremely well-connected and respected figure in academy football and we’re delighted that he’s agreed to join the Wycombe Wanderers academy to take overall responsibility for our recruitment strategy and delivery.
“We have a terrific catchment area across London and the Home Counties and further afield to find high-potential young people. Nathan’s leadership and expertise will be invaluable for us as we grow and begin to recruit talent across all age-groups.”
I am pleased to see that there is still a safety manager, a role that has been filled by many notables over the years.
