A wise move @flymofrank, I'll be off there soon. Blocking Elon made my experience much more bearable a few months ago, but the headbanger discourse still finds a way of seeping through the algorithm. Funny that.
The only reason I'm still on toxic Twitter is because so many sporting clubs use it as the primary means of communication, for getting out news and match commentary fast. I've learnt to keep well clear of the For You feed.
The WWFC app notifications seem to do a pretty good job in that respect. Team news is the only thing that doesn't come through instantly, but I can always get that on here...
Yeah I've deactivated Twitter this weekend and gone to BlueSky. Similar to you @Steve_Peart it was the football news that was keeping me there, so I'm delighted to see the club launch a BlueSky account today. The downfall of Twitter has been quite the journey - it was my absolute go-to source of news for so long.
We started off outraged that it's 1130 and on telly so no-one will bother going to outraged we cannot get a ticket! Got to love football fans. Never on Twitter but if I had been I would not be now. I use Facebook to keep in touch with friends and family in the wider world...but some of their views since Trump/Brexit have had me wondering about that. The twattersphere can be an angry and hopeless place.
It's a very good point. I've only been to four games this season. I bought two kids' subscriptions so that I could use the kids season ticket for myself for all the midweek games (which is a great incentive by the club). I also went to the York game but there are people more deserving of a ticket than me.
The irony is I already know 3 people who just logged on and bought a terrace ticket in the home end to avoid any risk of not getting a ticket. With the ease in which they did this I’m inclined to think that it would have actually been more sensible to put the Wycombe tickets on general sale immediately.
As someone who has been very critical of the way tickets have been distributed in the past, I think the club has handled this very well. (And I say that as a non STH). In any case, as has been said elsewhere, with the TV coverage and morning KO I'd be surprised if tickets don't make it to general sale anyway.
Don't remember anyone saying they "wouldn't bother" going because of the kick off time. There are certainly a few who rarely miss games who can't go because of that kick off time (I am in that camp)
But I think that most fans were annoyed by the kick off time whilst still wanting to attend. Possible to be both see?
No complaints from me as a non season ticket holder about the allocation. I'm desperate to go, but season ticket holders should always get priority and those who attended the 1st round match getting highest priority seems sensible. Might be a scramble for remaining tickets on Thursday, but that's all part of the FA Cup experience!
that being said, when we draw Man United away in the next round, I firmly believe that tickets should be sold based on how close a person lives to Old Trafford
I have mixed feelings. I have enjoyed Twitter down the years and feel I am being hounded out by .... well you know. So do I flounce off or do I stay and mute and block in the hope that this tweaks my feed back to what I used to enjoy, football, historical plane crashes, Only Fools and Horses classic clips etc. But where I used to kid myself there is no way that my algorithm was being guided to look at topics I am at best apathetic about there is no doubt that this happening now. Also the scale of emotion on Twitter appears to be totally binary, passionate for/passionate against. It is without doubt mentally toxic and overspills into the real world.
It is my only social media platform so leaving it seems a shame but it and the world needs to calm the f down a bit.

I think it's a perfectly fair way to do it. We're not a massive club (yet) with any kind of away loyalty scheme.

Can you even imagine what it's going to be like with Elon working for the orange terror?
Sadly mate I've only got to take one look at the "For You" feed already to get a good idea of how that'll look!

It has to be one of the all Time most frightening double acts with the sort of propaganda and fake news it'll lead to.

WWFC have tipped up on Bluesky today.
I deleted my account on Twitter a few months ago. Its few remaining good points obliterated by the torrent of sewage.

Maybe there should be a "points" system?
I really hope it was a conscious choice from the media team to use a photo that has a pre-season fixture vs Wycombe on the poster next to the turnstile https://www.wwfc.com/news/2024/november/18/tickets-wealdstone-a-30-11/
Fantastic news. That'll be me done with Twitter.
That does seem OTT, I think this is a pretty good way of doing it and I doubt all STH will want to go anyway.
On a side note, I do like that podcast, the heroes of HP12 for those who haven’t listened before.
I talked about it for a while but finally chopped it a month or so back, doubt I'm missing much, plenty of other outlets.

Me too. Glad to get rid of it, only kept it for WWFC.
Maybe, but unless we really grow as a fan base it probably wouldn't be needed very often.
One thing that can't happen though, is for non season ticket holders to ever get priority over season ticket holders. However many aways they go to.

That feels on the low side, even with the ridiculous kick-off time. Got to imagine we'll sell out eventually.
If only we had a thread trying to work out which gasroomers live closest to which clubs…..
Wait a sec, it's not on sale to all ST holders yet is it. As you were!

How about a nice game of chess?
