Could probably fit in a tour of a few of the local Spoons. I’m not a Spoons snob but The Tickenham Inn (Ickenham), JJ Moons (Ruislip Manor, possibly the best of the bunch) and The Village Inn (Rayners Lane) are all pretty depressing. At least they were when I worked in the area around 10 years ago.
That quite frankly is a complete and utter disgrace of a kick-off time and has put a dampener on the enthusiasm that was starting to build for the tie. I wouldn't be against some Chairboys operatives conducting a mission similar to the one Leeds fans did at Histon in 2008.
Yes, there was something magical about it with the faint aroma of alcohol and castella cigars mingling with the pungent smell of liniment applied in those days to players’ legs.
Looks like they’ve given just over 1000 for league games this season to away fans. Hopefully the same for us otherwise tickets will be tight. We still have around 2.5k season ticket holders I think.
People moaning about an 11:30am kick off time? When I was playing for High Wycombe RUFC, and the fixture clashed with an England game, we would start our game at 10:30am, so finished and back in the clubhouse for lunch at 1pm, then settle down to watch the international action on the big screen
Also, that famous image of John Motson in his sheepskin coat, standing in a blizzard at Adams Park, was taken on the same afternoon that I was playing for High Wycombe against Guildford, up to our necks in muck and bullets.
Modern mollycoddled footballers and fans, they don't know they're born.
Not sure that any of what you've said here is relevant to be honest. 11:30 kick off is naff, rubbish for anyone with kids, rubbish for anyone who fancies a beer or two pre football, rubbish for anyone who wanted to make a day of it, rubbish for anyone who might work Saturday mornings, rubbish for anyone travelling from more than about 90 minutes away, rubbish for pretty much everyone.
Did you play the firsts Bargepole. One of my old friends played for the firsts just before he left school in 1992. He played in 90/91 and 91/92 before he went to Uni.

8am at JJ Moons next to Ruislip Manor
Great name too.
Been there. 😁
wasn't 11am on Boxing Day (and maybe Good Friday?) a bit of a thing? I'm getting too old to be sure, but it rings vague bells.

Silliest kick off time since the days of the ill fated ITV digital and something like Thurday 6.45pm kick off away at Huddersfield?

You can get a fry up and 5 pints for under £15! 😂
JJ Moons is a spoons? Must be full of loons and goons

Anyone know when tickets will go on sale?
Tv and this kick off time should at least make it less of a mad scramble
Waited all week for the tv games to get announced. Expected us to be on tv but not at this time.
Spoke to a couple of people at Stockport and I fancied the idea of driving to High Wycombe and getting the train.
Sunday would of been better for me or even a Friday night but don't think I can do it now especially with my Girls team kicking off at 12.
I was planning on doing the same. Might have to stay with micras badger the night before
Anyone know how many season ticket holders we have these days?
Surely won't go beyond them if peoples' estimates of only 600 tickets being available is true.
Trying to remember when we last even had to put a rule of season ticket holder AND another filter, like aways?
We might get a bigger allocation. They rarely get more than 1100 home fans.
I suspect we would out number them if it was a 3pm KO and we had a big allocation
They don't normally get huge cup draws though. Wycombe are in town.

I’ve to Wealdstone’s program editor and he reckons capacity will be capped at 3500 for the game. So maybe only 525 tickets for us.

What's this got to do with anything?
We've all played morning games as kids.
Fascinating.
Chilling
I've never played egg chasing!
Egg & spoon?

No, I was getting on a bit when I joined, and mainly played for the 3rd/4th XVs. This was in the late 80s/early 90s.
Ah, I just thought it was odd you remember playing Guildford as they never played in the same league as High Wycombe in 1990.
1025 tickets for us according to the Wealdstone website.
We will sell those with ease.
