Wasn’t surprising at all. Huddersfield have postponed both their previous international weekend games.
I really detest these International breaks, they are destroying football.
They very obviously need to sort this for next season.
Another Tuesday revenge mission.
The away game v Huddersfield in March is scheduled for an international break too. Could be a rare double rearrangement
It worked out well for Stockport, eh?
Hopefully this will encourage fielding an excellent starting X1 against Wealdstone
At least our new manager will have time to bed in…
Football is supposed to be business people keep telling us, between this and the cup kick off time are we really telling our match going fans that we will hardly ever play when it's actually convenient.
Few £ from the telly won't do any good long term.
A new low for me as a long distance supporter. I’ll be able to make one more match in 2024 as the Bolton game is a Friday. That’ll be my 5th home game of the season.
Should’ve packed in the subscription at the end of last season really but now it’s averaging over £50 a game it’s sadly time to bite the bullet.
Thank you Sky.
They need to end international football outside of the tournaments.
I used to go to Wembley for qualifiers. Now I don't even watch them on TV.
There's next to no peril of not qualifying anymore these days. Just a procession of comfy wins.
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times….
Barrow here we come 🤣
they do need to do something about international breaks…
Inevitable. Can’t wait for the latest Nations Leagues games though*.
*not even the players want it
Huddersfield wanted the game ppd, nothing to do with Sky.
They are being merged from the season after next, into one 3 week autumn break, I think
At the very least, clubs should only be allowed to apply for home postponement, rather than affecting the matchday income of someone else.
I think you're being deliberately obtuse if you don't understand the wider point being made, beyond the Huddersfield game.
The postponement will make no difference to the selection for the Wealdstone match. We have a prior Sat/Tues for the first team squad, then the FA Cup for the reserves, while the 1st team get a week’s rest, then Tues/Sat for the 1st team again. Works out pretty well, I think.
Fair point on this one. But combined with all the other fixture moves that are very much to do with Sky, I’ve finally been defeated.
Long live the VPN.
Not in the big countries. Players for smaller countries love it. They're playing games they could actually win now. Even San Marino.
Ringing the Blues 'Catchphrase' buzzer noise
I wonder if we could move March’s Wycombe v Burton clash, scheduled for a Tuesday, to next Saturday?
That would be a non starter for Burton who are between managers at the moment
Probably not going to happen, but it would certainly be an idea for the League to try and work around these fixtures instead of just racking up the games in hand.
But didn't Burton have call-ups?
I do understand the wider point and sympathise with it, but Arnos Grove mentioned the Huddersfield game as he confirms in his most recent post.
Possibility that our Pizza Trophy game against Crawley this Tuesday might get pushed back to the original Huddersfield date, like we did against Wimbledon last season?
No idea if their fixture against Bristol Rovers is likely to be called off too, mind.
Unlikely with Crawley still playing at Rovers on that day
This game has been re-arranged for Tuesday 7th January 2025. Kick-off 7.45pm.
Well done everyone!
