Hi guys thought I’d just pop in to give a view from outside on not just Kone but you lot generally. I watched your game against County the other night and you looked awesome, especially Kone who should have bagged at least a hat trick. He was outstanding but so were the whole team I thought. You looked bigger, stronger and way faster than Stockport and it’s no surprise you are where you are.
Obviously Morley and Sads are doing well for you and it’s causing many here to call for Aaron to come back to the Reebok in January. I can’t see it personally because he’d have even more competition here now but at least he can’t play against us when we meet. Until I actually watched you I thought you were probably in a false position but now I have seen you I think you could be the real deal this year so good luck to you and let’s hope both Wanderers go up this year. 👍😀
Fantastic recognition for King Kong and I couldn't be more pleased for him. What a rise it's been.
A controversial take though, I don't think he's even been our best player this month. It does feel like the nominees for these types of award are more often than not based on goals, assists and/or clean sheets alone. Probably why the likes of Josh Scowen are lauded by us but also go unnoticed by most.
He’d get in my team Albion but Evatt’s a strange character and players have to fulfil several roles. Morley’s an attacking and creative player but Evatt wants his midfielders to track back, tackle and defend as well which isn’t Aaron’s game. He’s proving now if he’s played in the right way how good he is but if he came back here he’d just sit on the bench again so I suspect he won’t and you’ll have him for at least the season.
You can waste a lot of money trying to buy players to fit a system or philosophy you perceive as being right, the better managers are adaptable and realise that if 5 in midfield and someone else grafting means Morely is a 10/10 most weeks and the team wins then it's the right formation.
It took Blooms a decent while to realise he could improve quality and success of our game by being flexible.
Evatt has always struck me as being agro and a bit hung up on hard work over what is sensible, are the fans still with him?
Let's not forget Morley is only the third best midfielder in the squad according to our MOTM stats.
Morley and Humphreys are reaping the rewards of playing alongside Scowen who is always a 8-9/10 or more. The three of them playing together have formed the best midfield partnership we have ever had at this club but Scowen is the lynchpin.
Not quite that simple although Josh is obviously superb but with him moving further forward, Morely being deeper and one other depending on rotation and opponent the dynamic is just very different, most of us couldn't see it for a while but now we keep the ball higher up whereas it used to come back quickly and can pick passes out so we are always on the front foot and aren't waiting for someone to come at us. Blooms has done a remarkable job and we have a fine squad , long may that all continue.
As much as Pompey fans rate Potts, they’re bottom of the league for a reason. I like Potts but he was far too cute at times. I thought he was a bottom half Championship quality player and I stand by that. He will, of course, progress beyond that. He’s still so young. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him play in the Premier League one day.
Interestingly, taking the temperature of their forum, few fans are blaming Mousinho, and would generally want to keep him back in L1. They seem to be mostly blaming poor summer recruitment.

Oh no
I'm lazy so one of you super stato's tell me the last time we had an award like this for an individual?
Well done Richard you lovely man. Well deserved.
Fabulous! Well done Richard 👋

Morley is terrible, not worth his place in the side.
Agreed. Morley isn’t worth bothering with.
Aaron who? Largely anonymous.
Yes this absolutely and Birmingham can go up through the Playoffs if they like.
Well done King Kone!
Welcome back @FarmerCee - if we give you Sam Vokes, can we keep Morley?
Pleeease 🙏

MOTM table for October matches bears out your opinion. Apart from the fact he missed a game, Scowen was on an absolute tear.
That Burton game really was an absolute master class of midfield play.
That's huge for it to be a fan award too, as often the higher attendance clubs will fiddle it for their player.
@FarmerCee so Morley wouldn’t get in a ‘competitive’ mid table mid field but he does walk into a table topping team? Interesting logic.
It’s not about ability. It’s about ‘face’ - manager and player
Oh I agree with @FarmerCee - NO WAY Morley gets in their team. He would drag them kicking and screaming into L2.
Stay far away from that anchor.
In October he was only our third best midfielder according to the stats
I've been calling him Trevor all this time.
Ha, I think we’ll pass on that one shev but if you make Evatt a decent offer I’m sure he’d be ready to do business. 🤔

Yes, moving Scowen forward and Morely back has been a masterstroke for the reasons you state.
I was wondering yesterday whether Freddie Potts would even get near the current midfield?
I loved Freddie Potts but he wouldn’t get into the current midfield, neither would Lewis Wing.
Also, Chris Forino wouldn’t get into one of the two centre back positions with Low and Taylor forming a superb CB partnership.
Not sure about Forino if he wasn't made of glass. He was rapidly improving until his body unfortunately gave up.
