Amazing performance. Could have been even more goals. This is an incredible run of games based on excellent football and real attacking threat. It will be interesting to see what happens in the January window both with the loanees and to see if we get any offers for our players. Long may this run continue.
I genuinely wish we were playing Birmingham on Saturday instead of Wigan. Without getting carried away, this isn’t some fluke run…we are the real deal. I don’t fear any team in this league.
OMG thank you so much WWFC. I have a few phone calls to make tomorrow to my Stockport supporting pals - home in 5 mins as most of the County fans left with 20 mins to go and yes this game deserves the opening of the very special bottle of whisky - enjoying it as I type. Truly magnificent performance tonight, great atmosphere amongst our fans and I have to say Tim the drummer was very much part of that. COYB
You can tell we're doing well when we are worried that our failing coach from last season and our non-league striker in his first full season will immediately get ludicrous offers and leg it rather than stay for a possible promotion.
PS Just back from Stockport. Such a ridiculously good night… The total domination reminded me of some our best games in the runaway promotion seasons of 86/87 and 92/93.
Pre match my mates said to me ‘who should we look out for, who’s your key man?’ And I said Scowen, then Joe Low (one of them is Welsh), then Kone and his story, then Fred and his fourth spell with us, then Humphreys and Morley as the loanees, and I realised that we don’t have a star man, we have an incredible squad full of talent, hard work, skill, good guys, all led by a really great man. These are heady times, and, having never seen Gormania or O’Neill’s teams, I plan on enjoying them immensely. See you all at Wigan on Saturday. COYB.
I do think we are being a little selfish on here. We really should spare a thought for @trevor who must really be struggling with things at the moment.
Tonight’s performance was a huge statement. It has also completely changed our perception as a club, and specifically as a team.
I enjoyed our reputation under Gareth Ainsworth. His last game was a perfect illustration. That reputation is no more. Matt Bloomfield has created a brand new reputation, where we’re to be respected, recognised as a good team, and considered as genuine promotion contenders. That is some achievement. I am absolutely delighted for Matt Bloomfield.
There was a moment in the first half when we had free kick high up on the right hand side. The lads ( can't quite remember who - Harvie and Morley, possibly?) lost possession and Stockport had a great breakaway chance. Moments later the ball was being safely shepherded by three players to Ravs after a tremendous sprint back to redeem the error. It was the incident that resonated with me the most as it showed a total commitment to the cause. I knew then that we were going to win. Bizarrely, I think we can play better!
The best bit was about three of our lads were doing everything to get back and make up for the error. And keep the clean sheet. Even though we were three up (?). So so good. Special times.
Comment on BBC don’t think i’ve seen such a good comment about wycombe in 40 years of being a supporter.
Although we (Stockport) were undoubtedly very poor I can't take anything away from Wycombe who were absolutely brilliant. It pains me to say it but they should have scored 8 and could have scored 10+, they weren't even on my radar at the start of the season but if they continue to play like that they will take a lot of stopping
Jasper Pattenden was superb last night. When I saw the team sheet I was a little worried that we would miss Jack Grimmer but Jasper was outstanding and completely nullified their danger man.
Jasper tends to get slightly over looked when we talk about our future prospects, with Declan Skura being in the limelight but last night Jasper confirmed his right to selection in our match day squad.
Jasper doesn’t stop running and his positional sense and general game play have improved tremendously under the watchful eye of Matt and his coaching team.

Thirteen years ago, I distinctly remember standing on the terrace beaming out the final rendition of “We’ll never play you again.”
Well, we played them again. Played them off their own park.
I won 1,000 quid on the Premium Bonds this Saturday.
But 5-0 means more to me than 1,000
(Either because I'm loaded or have dyscalculia or I realise how much this team means to me)
(It's a mix of A and C)
I almost wanted Stockport to score from the free kick at the end so I could post that the goal changed nothing.
@eric_plant I heard a rumour that the promotion bandwagon is already full. Any chance you’ll be running a second one?
I liked how mad a few of our players went when the ref give the foul. Always nice to keep a clean sheet.

If this is 92/93 I need to get me a flag for Wembley...
Hopefully I don't dive through a pane of glass and get blood all over it this time
"And in the years that followed all of the football fans hailed Crawley, for putting out a defence that could keep Wycombe to one goal."

I can't be the only one surpised by how many Wycombe fans live to close to Stockport!
Part of a long game to un-jinx Edgeley Park by placing noble Chairboys in close proximity. Don't you just love it when a plan comes together?
I’m thinking we need to start the official North West supporters club based on this thread tonight!
Certainly up for that!
I know there's a few wycombe fans in Swansea

So nice to see people describing us as a good side!!
He’s so pissed off with our form he’s not visited the forum since early September, clearly nothing for him to be happy about
Only 7 wins to safety now

Wow! What a performance, I cannot remember such a clinical, one sided game from us previously.
Cambridge away, Northampton away, Chesterfield away came close on scorelines but that was something else.
how to end a 12 match run without a win at Edgeley Park. I only went tonight as my son hasn’t been here! #88 for him.
I was also delighted to get back to the car and it was in one piece! Lots of tick offs tonight in Stockport 🤣
Staying in Warrington Saturday for the big match at Wigan. COYB!

yes thought the same three players chased back having lost the ball and back in control so quickly .
