What a night! Wish I could have been there. Outstanding performance from all.
Hope Matt Bloomfield enjoyed that one after enduring many of the low moments we’ve had at Edgeley Park as a player!
Can’t believe it’s been 14 years since our last visit either - a crazy reminder of just how special it is to have a manager who has had an association with the club for as long as Matt!
Just under a year ago we lost at home to Stevenage in an absolutely horrible game. The match in which Hanlan did his ACL.
Not in a million years would I have l believed that 12 months later we'd be top of the table, leading scorers in the division and thumping teams 5-0 away.
1st half we were ruthless, capitalising on poor defending. 2nd half absolutely superb. Stockport never got near our goal, we completely controlled them in every department. Could/should have got a few more, but with all the battering we've taken up there over the years, I'm delighted with the 5!
Not trying to get ahead of myself, but I saw this as a bit of a barometer - a real difficult away trip up naarf to a contender at a place we had never won. Could we prove we are a real threat?
Well, we are playing good attacking football that we like to watch every week and should not disappoint kids coming for their first game or a mate you brought, so they really have no excuse.
Well done to Matt and his team. That was worth 15 quid of anyone's money and kudos to all who travelled.
was in in time for last 10 mins only to find my internet had died and no mobile signal in the house. By the time I got it all working again it was over 😖
Look forward to a few threads tomorrow moaning about food pricing, access and anything else people can find as the football is too damn brilliant to moan about.
A while back @glasshalffull asked if anyone would actually prefer exciting, attractive, attacking football that didn’t win games, over results by any means necessary. I was one of a few on here that said yes. This is dreamland stuff though - exciting, attractive, attacking, unpredictable and above all incredibly effective. It’s pure joy. I’m starting to worry more about Blooms getting poached than any of the players though.
I did notice Jasper scampering on a couple of occasions, @Malone. Reckon his little legs have to rotate faster than average to maintain decent pace. Thought he did very well this evening.

4 points more than Ryan Reynolds, same games played. Not bad.
it’s been closed down 😁
The actor is from Stockport but I changed it to Lord Percy for 'comedic effect'
I’m struggling to adhere to ‘never too high never too low,’ at the moment.
Probably for the best.
QPR battered at home tonight, would show the bizarre nature of football if we leap-frogged them. Thinking wayyyy ahead

5 goals? On the Fifth? WAKE UP, SHEEPLE.

That's for the players and management - for me it is "put the lows in perspective but drink in the highs, as they don't come around as often!"

The 4 games we haven't won in the league were Birm and Wrex before we'd got the squad ready and 2 very late goals conceded in aways!
It's just getting started big boy.

Erm...yep.
Just in. Did I miss anything?
Chilling

Kone being terrible, and not worth anyone ever scouting again.
I hope Mikheil was watching.
Ok, I’ll give the highlights a miss then

I’ve invited my pals to every future Wycombe game. One turned to me after 20 minutes and said ‘are you actually good?’. Yes. Yes we are
Bloomfield leaving and taking Kone with him would make me wet the bed. Which would make it difficult to get to sleep.
I did
150/1
I think others got even better odds than that
It would also make you a Reading fan.
But if you had to sleep in a wet bed permanently for us to win promotion, you'd take one for the fanbase though?
There's Japanese businessmen who'd pay good money for that.

Who didn’t ?
I think we all need to calm down a little.
But I trust you're already getting MICRA on your CHAMPIONS 2024/25 shirt planned?
