Hadn't realised Barry was top scorer. I did think early on that Pattenden seemed to take a 'no nonsense' approach to clearing his lines. With that context I wonder if he was under instruction to keep his game straightforward and take a safety first approach, at least in the early stages.
I am really starting to wonder just how good Blooms is (in a positive way). His footballing career had natural limitations of skill and pace, but management has not such obstacles, and seems made for him.
I keep getting excited about our prospects this season.... then calm myself down and accept this run can't continue..... well.... it fucking well is! When am.i allowed to officially get excited??
Bloomfield receiving all the praise is great, (he did take all the flak TBF when things were going poo), but I think he would be the first to admit that his coaching staff & right hand man have a lot to do with it.
I think he learnt an awful lot from that very (very) bad spell last season, and he's come out the other side a fine manager. We all know how good a human he is, and I'm sure that he is a great man manager (although I'm not sure anyone will ever touch GA in that respect) but tactically he is clearly getting better with every week that passes. I look forward to the day I see him manage in the premier league.
That is two managers in succession that have managed through extremely difficult spells and come out the other side to be much much better managers for the experience
Deluded. Do they realise our owner is worth 10x theirs? Would be absolute insanity to sell him to a promotion rival when we don't need the money, never going to happen.
With the team we have, and looking at the way the Championship is currently set up, I think we could establish ourselves in that league. Lots of youth, and even more as the academy finds its feet.
It's not even halfway through the season and all our best players and the manager are off, we all seem to be having a good time, does no-one think perhaps the players that Blooms has shown such confidence in, who are playing out of their skin, might want to stay?
As expected, Blooms shortlisted for October Manager of the Month after also being nominated in September. I struggle to see who could stop him winning this time, as we won every league game!

You love to see it! Kone has kicked into a ridiculous gear!
No matter what happens from here, this season has given us absolutely bonkers levels of attacking entertainment.
Didn't I say just before the start of the season Kone would be top scorer?
We are the only team with strikers scoring a goal every 100 minutes or less. Fred is on 96 mins per goal, nobody else is anywhere close

Certainly didn't look out of place did he.
Pretty sure Vokes is on about 12 mins per goal as well
Same here.
I wondered who the commentator thought he was, as if he was a lower league Shearer or something!

This is just blowing my mind at this point.
That’s a lot of miles per gallon for Richard.

Ainsworth Bayo seemed like the ultimate......but now we have Bloomfield Kone and they seem just as good but so nice. Nice guys can't.......can they?
I genuinely thought the golden age was over, but now...we may be moving on to platinum!

Spare a thought for Lewis Wing and Chris Forino 👍
I gave them one thought each, because I am feeling generous.
Had a quick look around some other clubs forums last night.
Wrexham fans are clamouring for them to get Kone in January... 100 million should do it
Before anyone else says it, surely he wants to look at going to a higher club, not a step down to Wrexham.

It really is something to be proud of, that.

The fact that we are top of the league as well.

Definitely an exciting time to be a chairboy fan

Dobbo pulling the strings again? 😊

Remember when Dobbo won a game when Ainsworth was ill, and a few people were suggesting he was actually the finer management mind.
Sacrilege to omit the 6-2 demolition of that mob from Layer Road on 16 December 1991 in the Bob Lord Trophy.
It might’ve been a first team game on paper but it’s difficult to give it much status at all given the circumstances.

We did draw at Barnsley on 1st Oct (my birthday!) though
