Is that humourless lemon-sucking y-front wearing Yorkie still whinging about dodgy refereeing decisions (without providing any replays of the incidents)? Maybe it was karmic payback for 1986...
He enjoyed it. I think it helps that he has watched some games on TV and likes kicking a ball around so he has some frame of reference. If he turned up without having seen any football before I imagine he'd have been totally perplexed. Albeit he was pretty bemused when people stood up and cheered at the goals.
First half hr was easy. Quite a lot of new sights and sounds to keep him engaged. By half time he was ready for a snack and taking him to the loo was a pain.
Second half was fine, although by 75 mins he was getting a bit fidgety. Definitely helped that we had a steady supply of snacks and hot chocolate. I was basically able to break things up every 20 minutes or so by giving him something to munch on.
I was also quite grateful for the drum. He seemed to like bouncing away to that and clapped along a few times.
I don't think I'd take him regularly yet. But we'd go again to a low key game I think. I reckon it helped that it wasn't especially raucous.
One thing I would say is that the view isn't amazing from the family stand. Quite low down, which I think made it slightly difficult for him to really see what was happening at times. He visibly enjoyed it when the action was on the touchline up close to us. And he actually quite liked the York goal because it was right Infront of us and involved a 'big kick'. I might try taking him in the upper tier next time. And obviously that's a better all round experience anyway.
The young lad has been trained well and is already keen on football - he knows what a shot, tackle and a save for instance, and and is able to join in with "Come on Wycombe" at appropriate times.
I'd say it went well, the goals helped the atmosphere, which he enjoyed, and it wasn't too cold. A supply of snacks and hot chocolate ensured he lasted the full 90 minutes.
I know he'll be back for more - he's the fourth generation of WWFC supporters in the family, so doesn't really have a choice. But getting him bitten by the Wycombe bug early is a definite strategy.
I will suggest he picks a low key game I think too, although not sure we’ll get one of them anytime soon! I agree on the view from the Family Stand but I think that’s where we’ll try first with him.
Can I just caution that if my dad hadn’t taken me to Wycombe games from when I was 5 I have calculated that I would be £327,628.84 better off financially.*
*(Admittedly I have also applied a complex equation apportioning a monetary value to life-enhancing experiences (eg Keith Searle’s goal, Wimbledon away, Marcus Bean’s goal) where I am £2,837,201.22 richer but that’s NOT the point)
Without any prior knowledge (I promise) I think our game plus Kettering v Doncaster and Blackpool v Birmingham are likely contenders for live TV coverage.

My first away game. A perishingly cold afternoon.
How did this go out of interest? My friend wants to take his 3 year old but felt he might be a bit young?
Pretty good @fromtheside.

Thanks @Twizz @Glenactico and great stuff he enjoyed it!

@bookertease didn't you factor in winning 5-0 away at Stockport.
No. I am just assuming I am on drugs (having just seen live for the first time my favourite artist from the last 10 years or so)
When are fa cup tickets going on sale?
Wonder if they'll confirm if it's a TV game before that date too.
I'd be amazed/ shocked if it isn't on TV, must be surely, non league team at home to team top of league one !?
It's easily the tie of the round
Who?edit: Ignore, just saw the answer in the culture thread.
