Looking forward to this. Bringing along two mates who don't support Wycombe so hope we put on a show and back up our recent good form. Plus, the bus goes from outside my house so it's the easiest game of the year for me!
Looking forward to the game tonight, I'll have my eldest daughter Sadie and Ellis with me. Rosie who's 6 had a tough decision and decided she wanted to watch the fireworks instead.
Any tips on parking? Last three trips to Edgeley Park I've had my car broken into. Tip for everyone else - don't park near me!
Just shuddered at the thought of Liam Dickinson, what a player he was for a season or two against us. Would love to have someone like him in this team. Bobby Zamora 2.0.
The way I think about it is that if we take as many points as we give away that's par.
So 7 pts (assuming W2 D1 L2) would be OK. If those 5 teams finish in and around the top 8 it would suggest we're set for a similar placing. 7 pts from 1 win and 4 draws would give us a better outcome overall.
9 I'd see as good. 10-12 excellent. Over 12 = book your holidays for May because we're going up automatically.
Not a particularly happy hunting ground for us historically and a bit of a bogey team. But, different era now and all that. Much like the trip to Barnsley, this is “happy to get a point” territory for me.
My take on things right now, given how well we are playing and how much confidence we have, I wouldn’t take anything less than 15 points from the next five! Naturally we will lose games but I don’t think we should be looking at how many points we can get from a run of games anymore, we should be looking to win them all!
This is our second worst bogey fixture, I believe... (in terms of games without us winning against that opponent, at the given ground...) Worst is Luton at home, where we haven't managed a win in 15 attempts.
Before tonight, we haven't managed a win at Edgeley Park in 12 attempts. Last attempt was 14 yrs ago, when Matt Phillips (just before his 'big time' move) replaced Blooms off the bench, Ainsworth was playing on the wing, and we drew 0-0...
It's inevitable we will have a dip at some point, but I am fascinated to see how we measure up on the road against these clubs with aspirations - and to whether the goals keep flowing!
This is the match I’ve been looking forward to the least and I’ve mixed feelings about @manchesterchairboy taking a couple of mates, no doubt hoping they’ll be impressed. Examples of friends taken to Adams Park being singularly unimpressed were by no means uncommon during the Ainsworth era despite the success we enjoyed during that time.
But these are very different times, stylistically, and I hope we’ll be able to continue tonight with the entertaining brand of football which we’ve enjoyed so much this season. The sheer physicality of Stockport in the past was a major stumbling block but let’s hope that their approach these days is slightly less physical. If not, with a referee averaging 6 yellows a game and not averse to the odd red, things could get quite interesting!

On WanderersTV, Sky Sports+ and NOW.
Anyone know if any Wycombe pubs have the Sky midweek Chairboy's away games on?

Is the game definitely on Sky Sports+? with it being a rescheduled 3pm Saturday game...
it does appear to be @Major. I can see it on the schedule.
Yes - https://www.wwfc.com/news/2024/november/05/the-big-match-preview-stockport-vs-wycombe/

“Mat Corlett has shown 57 yellow cards and two reds in his nine games so far this season.
He's never previously been referee for any Wycombe fixture.”
Average of 6 yellow cards a game!
We’ll certainly know a lot more about where we are in the L1 food chain after the next few games. I’m sure Blooms and co are relishing the challenge.
COME ON WYCOMBE!
Would 9 points from the next 5 games be a good return 🤔
Take it game by game...
If only an enterprising Chairman could think of combining football and fireworks into one event.....

Stockport tonight (Artist's impression)
Unbelievable commitment that. Three times in a row and you're going back a 4th time
You deserve a medal

COYB
I’ve seen us get whupped there three times.
Time to redress the balance this evening!
We have also never won at Wigan and we have played there 10 times.
It's inevitable we will have a dip at some point, but I am fascinated to see how we measure up on the road against these clubs with aspirations - and to whether the goals keep flowing!
That’s a bit of an understatement !

One of my all time favourite chants, to the tune of ‘Amore : “when you’re sat in rowZ and the ball hits your head that’s …… Zamora”
Good point @Vincey - they surely must be our third worst bogey team - and i temporarily forgot we're going there on Saturday...!
My home match this evening - 4 miles down the road. Would love to see a win COYB!
I thought my 7 miles was going to be the closest but I've been beaten!
30 miles for me tonight but 5 miles on Saturday
If we start beating teams like Stockport and Wigan away then book the promotion party bus and put the champagne on ice.
3793 miles for ML!
