Half time ‘entertainment’
I seem to remember that Mark Palmer lasted five minutes under the Couhig regime following the ‘Wycombe Swans’ half time cheer leader display (& the stadium announcer who set the tone not much longer).
So, at this mornings post match Ops wash up meeting I’d be interested to be a ‘fly on the wall’ for agenda point :
AOB - who approved the stag party karaoke?
In a former life at the club chasing all revenue opportunities was paramount but surely no longer? It was at best embarrassing but actually offensive to the ear for everyone in the stadium. The fact that it is trending on social media makes us frankly look like a laughing stock.
It must have been a very lonely place out on the pitch for Matt C as he implored “have you finished?” only to realise there was another big build up verse to go!
Witness the scene as the Ops meeting concludes:
Dan to Neil and Matt “guys can we have a word in my office……”

It went on far too long. To the point that it probably broke the Geneva convention banning collective punishment.
Let’s hope on this occasion Dan is going to “let it go”😉
Although it does make sense of why some staff have been frozen out since the ML takeover.
You know we're doing well on the pitch when this is what people are whinging about.
I would say it actually created a positive impression of the club. People are largely praising us on social media for playing our part in making it happen. It was a one-off and maybe I’m in the minority but I’m glad the club let it happen.
Anyway, let’s get the half time penalty shoot-out back.
It is one of the gasroom's finest traditions.
I hope he paid for it. And his mates enjoyed it.
It was funny to begin with...
Just because it's trending on social media doesn't necessarily make it a good thing!
Don't really know why everyone is getting so grumpy about this
Just a bit of fun. I'm glad the club do this sort of thing.
That's the second time I've agreed with @eric_plant today. I'm off for a bath.
It was a one-off feature and the modern equivalent of ‘tomorrow’s chip paper’. It won’t last long in the memory or cause any damage.
Bring back children flicking the V-sign at the Valley End following a missed pen. Now THAT’S entertainment.
Travelling support vs the terrace in five a side body zorb footy is the correct form of half time entertainment.
A good laugh and helped the club engage with young ones. Our future supporters
It shows how quickly a crowd can turn, as he started singing everyone around me was either smiling or clapping politely but as he went into the second verse it was like someone had thrown a switch, by the end of the song the language coming from the elderly lady next to me would make a docker blush.
Something ironic about a song called 'Let It Go' taking forever.
If a 20 something in a dress singing his favourite Disney song to his bride to be is what we have to do to encourage kids to come...so be it.
as @MorrisItal2 points out...started with everyone smiling with amusement/bemusement but there was a distinct failure to read the room before the big finish. 😊
It was pretty amusing, but then he started the second verse…..and the whole rest of the song.
