Great performance not withstanding the fact that Orient were totally inept and one of the worst performances I’ve seen from a L1 team at Adams Park for a while.
Particularly pleased for Bakinson who I thought got better and better as the game went on and Harvie is looking more and more like a real class act
I’m wondering how such a totally inept side managed to beat Stockport 4-1 at Edgeley Park. Is it not possible that Wycombe are now good enough to make quite a few League 1 sides look a bit inept ?
What a team and what a club. Sandwiched between the two Hollywood clubs Birmingham and Wrexham are little Wycombe Wanderers. Always proud to follow this club. Extra proud today.
I agree. Under Bloomfield it seems to me we don't let teams settle in the middle of the park, and once we have the ball off them, we've got Fred and McLeary to release or Low and Taylor mopping up at the back. Orient were toothless, but we rarely let them settle and get it forward and threaten.
On the admittedly few times they attacked (and when they got set pieces) they sent them high and wide. We were full value for the win but they were poor.
Low and Taylor are forming a great partnership at the back. We've conceded quite a few goals this season, but it's been hard to fault either of them much
Yesterday was only the second time this season, when we have been leading in a league game at half-time. The other was Crawley. However, we are the second half kings. Always bringing on a lot of subs, from a strong bench, might explain that. GF-GA is 8-8 first half, 18-8 second. From soccerstats.com.
We are so spoilt for goal scoring attackers it's amazing. I never care who starts and who will be coming on as a finisher.... I just assume goals will come from one or more of them.
Also, on Saturday, he got turned in the second half by an attacker and left on his backside, about 30 yards from goal. And last Tuesday, it's arguable he was marking space, rather than positioning himself to cut out the cross to Orsi for the Burton first.
Every single player from internationals and the PL down makes mistakes, can’t we just enjoy watching one of the most talented defenders we’ve had for a long time without resurrecting these incidents? I think we’re lucky to have him and he very rarely has a bad game.

Definitely possible and it’s already happened. Though today Orient were dreadful, regardless of how good we are/played.
I disagree with the assessment of Orient. I thought they were a tough side who fought well but limited in attack. We took them apart with ease though.

Only 8 wins until safety
We could be top before Guido is caught with his fingers in the gunpowder.

Low and Taylor are absolutely superb. Quite incredible to think their combined age is 43.

Thanks, @Steve_Peart - another indication of a massive turnaround, having been very much a first half club from about 21-22 through last season.
A couple of questions for any statisticians out there:-
Have we ever had been topscorers in any league we've been in?
Also:-
When was the last time we had a positive goal difference of + double figures?
We are so spoilt for goal scoring attackers it's amazing. I never care who starts and who will be coming on as a finisher.... I just assume goals will come from one or more of them.
What a time to be alive
Back at Loakes Park we had Tony Horseman (Bodger) and Keith Searle score close to 100 goals between them in a season - probably league & cup combined.
Pretty certain we would have been top scorers that year.
Isthmian league
1970-71 top scorers with 93 (conceded 32)
1971-72 too scorers with 102 (conceded 20)
Here's the record for that season
http://chairboys.co.uk/results/71_72.htm
92/93 top scorers with 84.
Farnborough went down that season with the third highest of 68!
Would be amazed without even checking if we weren't the year we went up from the conference!
Ah I see LX already confirmed that!
We must’ve been close to 100 goals and 100 points in Alan Gane’s Isthmian League championship winning season 86/87
Most goals in league era: 79 (2017-18)
Most goals in League One: 75 (2021-22)
Well on course to threaten both of those!
When was the last time Joe Low made a mistake? Genuinely?
Did he play the loose one to give the ball away at home to Cambridge from which they scored?
Would be nit picking even if so. Just hope we've got him signed up for longer than summer 2025 after the previous interest we rejected.
EDIT just re-watched the Cambridge goal and it was either before the clip starts, a different goal/game or I'm mis-remembering!
You could argue that he was culpable for the goal Buendia scored for Villa. He mis-cued his clearance of the cross

I agree. Just answering the question posed.
Fair enough.
