In 2017/18 we only lost to one team who finished in the bottom half (Morecambe, who did the double over us), and did not always do so well against other top teams, but "beating who we should beat" was good for 84 points!
I think our style probably lends itself very well to playing against “better” teams who arguably tend to be less physical, relying on skill perhaps rather than the in yer face up and uppem approach.
A few weeks ago I said I thought we'd do well against bottom 12 teams. That's sort of obvious because the average team will do better against bottom half and worse against top half sides. Nonetheless my feeling then was that we'd overwhelm lesser teams because their pressing wouldn't be enough to prevent us passing through the lines, that we would win any physical contest and have more strength from the bench. So far that looks about right. We're now about to discover if we can find a way to win tighter games against better opposition.
The next month should give us an idea of whether we've got enough for a top 6 finish ( or even better). Will Kone/Udoh still look a handful against more imposing defenders (like Low/Taylor)? Will Morley still be able to pick the same quality and range of passing under a tighter press? Are Taylor and Low still able to dominate so comprehensively against better quality CFs?
It's going to be a real test. I predict some really exciting games. The momentum and excitement could really snowball with a good set of results in November. We go into it on fire, full of confidence and with few injuries...

Sensational
We are 2nd in the league say we are 2nd in the league
Boom, boom, boom, boom
I want you in my
roomteamLet's win the league together
From now until forever
Wonderful
Charlton snatch late leveller putting us 2nd in the table with a game in hand over Wrexham.
This weekend couldn't get any better.
We're only one point off the playoffs
This is some season! We are the great entertainers!
Most comfy win of the season, plenty of goals, clean sheet and 2nd with a game in hand on Wrexham.
It's only October but need to savour these moments
Amen to that.
Should I be worried that we have played 9 of the bottom 12 ?!

The bigger they are, the harder they will fall!

Routine. Not too much to say other than:
1) I’m delighted
2) Thanks for Morley, Bolton. We’re not much of a threat to your promotion hopes x
3) Thank you very much Matty Godden x
Could we actually…
A calm, controlled, comprehensive, tactically perfect win. This team is developing before our eyes. Hard to see a weakness today.
We must have been excellent today, well under a hundred posts on the matchday thread. I wonder where all the moaners are? #prayforTrevor
I know it was a struggling Orient and they were quite poor...but you have to play what's in front of you. And we are second in the League.
Great team performance today. What a good squad we have and a great team managing them.
@Jonny saw Hennig with a fanzine.
Jimmy Cliff made zero effort with his comeback, say critics.
class interview by Wellens...refreshing and gives us lots of kudos

Just shows the squad depth, with no Scowen and Grimmer going off early, we still completely dominated the opposition.
Real professional performance today. Humphries was superb and Fred was a handful. I do hope both Grimmer and GMac are able to return quickly.
Great performance and it will be nice to have a FA cup game next week, especially if we can give some of our other squad members minutes.
Great stuff from us - really entertaining. We are now the division's top scorers. Best squad depth we've ever had.
It just did
Had a call from @AlanCecil apparently I won the latest draw of the Quarter Ball...just wonderful
They are in the bottom half because they have played us !
I’ve had a few pints but today was absolutely beautiful. That is all.
Great reception for Matty in the bar after the game. Wonderful to see him absolutely beaming.
Great to see the return of the post match interview in the bar, hope that continues.
Genuinely think this is the best stuff I've ever watched at Adams Park. I'm bursting with pride and happiness!
First time we've had a full stadium rendition of "stand up if you love Wycombe" since the MK playoff game?
I was going to say the same
