think this one might enter your chart of top performances @Shev!
Sorry Jack. Wish we could vote for a player per half.
Some great performances across the pitch from the defence, midfield and attack - but there's only one candidate.
It was going to be Jack Grimmer…
Exactly. He was the main architect of that magnificent victory.
Sorry Jack.
Kone is now joint top of the L1 scoring chart with 6 league goals.
Brilliant team performance, Kone was immense in front of goal, but I stuck with my original choice of Jack Grimmer for his best showing so far this season & a true leaders performance.
shhhhhhhhhhh
Guaranteed to Bolton in the window for an ‘undisclosed fee’ that’s later revealed to be £300k.
I thought Josh played really well as per however I went with Jack today.
I went for Udoh for his first half but early scapegoat Captain Jack was excellent today. As was Humphries tackling in the first 45...he nicked the ball from them so many times.
Personally I thought McCleary terrified their left back today! 🤷♂️
Some excellent performances. But 3 in 9 minutes and the King gets it for me.
What an impossible task! So many good performances as already noted. Went for Grimmer, but Kone is proving to be some find!
Crazy to think GMac passed Nick Freeman for Wycombe appearances (180) today. It felt like Nick was with us forever!
Felt sorry for Josh 1st half as Jack was so good, felt sorry for Jack 2nd half as Kone came on.
Nailed on as Grimmer...until a 10min hattrick changed the script.
Would be interesting to see their minutes count though.
Perception is that a huge % of McCleary's appearances are starts, whereas it feels closer to the opposite for Freeman.
I would bet you are very much right there. Wouldn't surprise me if Freeman has two thirds of the minutes with the same games played.
Honestly, I'd have given it to Kone for that second goal alone. Showed a really astonishing sense of knowing how to score from a really unpromising position.
Wondered if the splinters in Nick's backside from sitting on the bench had started to heal but Wikipedia suggests he's barely played since leaving, guess he's injured. He was here a long time but seemed to go from prospect to luxury to great hope to afterthought.
GMac has looked a class apart from the day he turned up and was probably only ever rested if not starting, nobody could have thought he'd still be going roasting fullbacks.

I remember my young pal, @Malone, being shocked when, during his first season, Gmac was awarded a two year contract. I think that was the context but it was a long time ago.
The odd thing with McCleary is he was rotated a lot more in his first season here than he is now!
Everyone knows pace fades over years, but it helps when you're ferocious at your peak, as you'll still be quick later on. Same with Tyson. He wasn't the absolute pace beast he was early on in his 2nd spell, but was still as quick if not quicker as any full back he'd face in our tier in his mid 30s.
I hadn’t clocked that it was a perfect hattrick too, I wonder if there’s ever been a faster perfect hattrick in the English league?
Did some quick scouting around to find some stats.
The quickest perfect premier league hattrick was Cole Palmer in 29mins in April
But I also found Danny Butterfield when Palace were in the championship in 2009/10, albeit it being in an FA Cup tie.
6mins 48 (!) beating Kone's time today by a few mins!
Even madder as he was a right back playing up front!

I’d love it if his was the fastest perfect hat trick. That’s exactly what I’ve been talking to my brothers about in the last 15 mins bizarrely.
Apparently James Hayter in 2004 for Bournemouth shattered Kone's pace of hattrick by coming on and scoring 3 in 140seconds!
