Starting a season with two (or more) goals scored each game record
With two more goals scored in today's win at Bristol Rovers we have equalled a record of seven matches last set in the 1937/38 season.*
Our Isthmian League results that season were:
DULWICH HAMLET H W3-1
OXFORD CITY H W7-0
Leytonstone A L2-6
Oxford City A L2-3
CLAPTON H W4-2
LONDON CALEDONIANS H W2-1
Casuals A L2-3
*it was also done twice during the Second World War in both 1941/42 (8 games) and 1944/45 (12 games). However The Great Western Combination was only made up of ten teams, and former players, many having retired, were called upon to make up the numbers.

This is incredibly brilliant research.
If we score two (or more) goals versus Crawley Town on Saturday we will equal the start we made in 1934/35 (Isthmian League) of nine matches.
If we then score two (or more) goals versus Stockport County, we would equal the start we made in 1920/21 (Spartan League) of ten matches, when we were crowned Champions.
If we then score two (or more) goals versus Peterborough United, we would set a new club record of eleven matches.
That’s good but what’s the club record of consecutive scores of exactly two goals record?
Pretty sure it’s a new record
I'm sure Jermaine McSporran holds some sort of unofficial record for 2 goals in quick succession. Albeit one goal before half time and one in the second half. Something like 7 seconds between the two goals from memory. And against POSH haha.

For comparison, our longest 2+ goal streaks by the most recent ten seasons. This really sums up how impressive this start has been!
15/16: 4
16/17: 3
17/18: 5 (twice)
18/19: 3
19/20: 2
20/21: 2
21/22: 4 (three separate times)
22/23: 4
23/24: 4
24/25: 8*

Is this worth a Gasroom vote of some sort
Suppose we score a second goal tomorrow, and Crawley have yet to score in say minute 80. Should we sing "We want three!"
Is the decision any different if it is minute 8?
Obviously there is a big difference if the score reaches 2 - 2 at any time.
Two is perfect number for Blooms. One isn’t enough, three is a bit flashy, but two demonstrates hard work and normally gets the job done.
Crawley's last three league games have resulted in the opposing team scoring two goals!
Crawley 0 Mansfield 2
Crawley 0 Bolton 2
Wrexham 2 Crawley 1
Nailed on 0-0 then
The one game we think we can easily get 2 or more and it’ll be a low scoring game.
I am interested to see Crawley - they keep a lot of possession, and have had a difficult schedule recently, and I am not sure they are as "bad" as their current position anyway.
We have to beware that we were bang average under an unproven manager, are now a world beating point gathering behemoth of League One led by a genius, and may be utter rubbish again with it 'all on Bloomfield' by 5pm tomorrow night!
I love football!😊
Ah memories. I was behind the goal for that game as a mere 14 year old. McSporran was always my favourite player.
How football has changed. Technically, players are so different now.
