Great ‘till death’ @Erroll_Sims . I was there for the ‘borough game as well. Looking to add your ‘something blue’ suggestion to my ‘most certainly so’ range😉
Aah, that’s really interesting, Ross. I remember now that you explained on here quite a long time ago that your username was an anagram of your real name.
Before I say anything about the interview, I should probably apologise for suggesting earlier today that you were doubling up as Herr @heisenberg. I think it was the hat in the latter’s profile picture which put the idea in my head. I was jesting of course but it did remind me of a hat which I think you wore at the ill-fated play off Final against Sunderland.
I also remember that you said you’d be wearing a light and dark blue checked suit. I had this picture in my mind of a suit with quite large light and dark blue panels but of course it was nothing of the sort.
What a great interview. You are such a charming guy and the background story to your support for the Wanderers overlaps my own quite closely. We moved to Wycombe from Basingstoke in 1974 for example - key difference being that I was 36 and you were 14 - which was when I started to watch on a regular basis. I had returned to commuting to London following a period living and working in Basingstoke.
mrs micra had worked as a nurse at the Centre for Epilepsy in Chalfont St Peter for a couple of years before the Basingstoke move and we had accommodation on the “campus”. I used to go to the odd match in those days and loved the Wycombe area. It was very different 50 years ago! My choice of Wycombe as a suitable town for commuting to London may have been influenced ever so slightly by my love of Wycombe Wanderers Football Club.
Sheelah and I watched and enjoyed it. Although I’ve been in correspondence with @Shev for some time I’d only recently asked him what drew a Hertfordshire lad to Wycombe. The answer, as we now know, is surprising, not least how someone who first started following the Blues (the right ones!) in his thirties (?) could have become so deeply immersed.
I was thirty myself in 1968 when I first started to get the bug but I’d been living in Chalfont St Peter (where Sheelah had a nursing job and accommodation at the Centre for Epilepsy) so I was a few thousand miles nearer than @Shev.
A nice thought and it had crossed my mind but my heart condition has become so unpredictable and anxiety inducing that it’s not really practicable and also I think @Shev is based some distance from High Wycombe.
I'd love to, but yes, from my perspective it's hard getting over there currently (I have a lift for the Cambridge game which is why I can make it). Currently on a short break in Sweden before coming back for this Saturday.
I don’t venture beyond about a 10 mile radius these days - just far enough to reach one or two hostelries for lunch with friends but even a single pint, sadly, is off the menu.
Never mind. Disappointing but life goes on. Hope you’re having a great time and enjoying the big rise in temperature since that chilly greeting last week.

Really enjoyed the (heavily trailed) Til Death Us Do Part segment this week. Some excellent choices from the guest fan… At the time, the Alty semi was the greatest WW moment for me, so that footage was special - but who (apart from St Martin, of course) could have dreamt of all the great occasions since?

Just seen the latest episode with yours truly on the Till Death us Do Part segment...
I really did enjoy chatting to Phil and we carried on "off air" for a while afterwards; definitely worth giving it a go if you are invited.
Other L1 clubs may their own podcasts, but i doubt they regularly provide etymological primers.

Happy birthday @bluntphil (I think)
Correct @drcongo, many thanks. Another year older but still no plans to grow up.
Glad to hear it!
Happy birthday Phil! Thanks for all the brilliant stuff you make about our wonderful, slightly mad club. Wouldn’t be the same without you
Hope it’s been a good one @bluntphil.
I still owe you a pint but I think we’ll have to write it off as I spend so much time abroad.
Good to put a face to a name @Shev . Enjoy the Cambridge game.
Where did you see @Shev ? Could you post the link, please. I’ve only seen @Erroll_Sims so far.
Watch the latest ‘ringing the blues’ via Spotify and there he is chatting to @bluntphil on the regular ‘something old / new / blue’ feature.
Can you and @Shev not arrange to meet for coffee at Hazlemere Parade @micra?
Enjoy the WWFC action while you're in town @Shev.

I used to play Sunday morning football at the Epilepsy Centre for many a year. 😊

Do you ever get very far afield at all, @micra?
Thanks for the kind words, @perfidious_albion and @Twizz!

Sorry to hear that, my friend!

@Shev is this the sort of thing you were thinking of for your ‘something blue’ merch?

Perfect episode title this week, given how enjoyable the oppo view is.
